New features The virtual private cloud (VPC) or vSwitch in which an ApsaraDB for Redis instance is deployed can be changed. You can change the VPC of the ApsaraDB for Redis instance to the VPC of an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance. This way, the ApsaraDB for Redis instance and the ECS instance can communicate with each other with minimum latency. 2021-02-26 All regions Change the VPC or vSwitch of an ApsaraDB for Redis instance

Optimized slow query logs Client IP addresses are recorded in the slow query logs of cluster instances of ApsaraDB for Redis Enhanced Edition (Tair), which can be used for troubleshooting. 2020-08-28 All regions Query slow logs
Optimized monitoring metrics Additional monitoring metrics are added to ApsaraDB for Redis. More metrics are collected to monitor the total number of keys, CPU utilization, and memory usage. This helps you improve the stability and response speed of the performance monitoring feature. The metric that is used to monitor the command response time is phased out from all monitoring groups. 2020-08-11 All regions

Data flashback The data flashback feature is supported by performance-enhanced instances of ApsaraDB for Redis Enhanced Edition (Tair). You can use this feature to restore data for an instance to a point in time in the last seven days. This feature helps avoid data loss caused by user errors, simplify operations and maintenance, and protect databases in real time. 2020-07-29 All regions Data flashback
Optimized support for security groups of Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances Support for security groups of ECS instances is optimized. ApsaraDB for Redis does not limit the number of host IP addresses in a security group. 2020-07-29 All regions Set IP address whitelists
Specified TLS version Earlier TLS versions can be specified. You can specify the TLS version based on your security compliance and business requirements. The default TLS version is TLS 1.0. 2020-07-28 All regions Configure SSL encryption

Change Description Release date Regions References
Dynamic bandwidth throttling Dynamic bandwidth throttling is supported. If a shard of an instance almost runs out of bandwidth and the host on which the instance is deployed has sufficient resources, the bandwidth of the shard is automatically scaled out. If the host has insufficient resources or the shard reduces the bandwidth usage, bandwidth resources are automatically revoked.
Note The maximum bandwidth of ApsaraDB for Redis is 96 Mbit/s per shard. If the bandwidth exceeds this limit, the bandwidth is throttled.
