Authorize RAM roles

Last Updated: May 28, 2020

When you are using DBS for the first time, you must grant the AliyunDBSDefaultRole permission to DBS. Then you can use DBS to back up and restore cloud databases under the current Alibaba Cloud account such as ApsaraDB for RDS, ApsaraDB for Redis, ApsaraDB for MongoDB, and Apsara PolarDB, as well as user-created databases hosted on ECS instances.

Role policy

The AliyunDBSDefaultRole permission policy is the authorization policy for the default DBS role, and includes some of the management permissions of ApsaraDB for RDS, ECS, ApsaraDB for Redis, ApsaraDB for MongoDB, and Apsara PolarDB. For more information, see AliyunDBSRolePolicy.
