Database Backup Service (DBS) offers subscription-based storage plans to help you reduce storage costs. After purchasing a storage plan, it automatically applies to eligible usage with no configuration required. This topic describes how to purchase a storage plan and how usage is deducted from your plan.

Background

You do not need to manually configure storage space for data disaster recovery. The storage space automatically scales based on the amount of data that you store, and you are charged for your actual data usage on a pay-as-you-go basis. If you store a large amount of data, we recommend that you use a storage plan. A subscription-based storage plan is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. The larger the capacity you purchase, the greater the discount. For more information, see Storage Plan vs. Pay-as-you-go Pricing Comparison.

DBS offers the following three types of storage plans:

  • CDM sandbox storage plan

This plan offsets the storage fees for the CDM sandbox feature within the same account. For more information about pricing, see Sandbox billing.

  • Backup instance storage plan

This plan offsets the built-in storage fees for backup schedules under the same account.

  • Database backup storage plan

This plan offsets the pay-as-you-go storage fees for ApsaraDB RDS and ApsaraDB for MongoDB databases under the same account.

Notes

  • You can purchase and stack multiple storage plans. For example, two 1 TB storage plans are equivalent to one 2 TB storage plan.

  • You cannot modify the specification of a storage plan after purchase.

  • If your storage usage exceeds the capacity of your storage plan, the excess usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

  • A storage plan automatically expires at the end of its subscription period.

Purchase storage plan

  1. Go to the DBS storage plan purchase page.

  2. Select the required Type, Specification, Quantity, and Subscription Duration.

Also, select a Region, such as Global.

  3. Click Buy Now.

View storage plans and usage details

  1. Log in to DMS 5.0.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Security and disaster recovery (DBS) > Data Disaster Recovery (DBS) > Disaster Recovery Management.

    Note

If you use the DMS console in simple mode, move the pointer over the 2023-01-28_15-57-17.png icon in the upper-left corner of the DMS console and choose All Features > Security and disaster recovery (DBS) > Data Disaster Recovery (DBS) > Disaster Recovery Management.
