After you perform a release operation for your pay-as-you-go Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch cluster, the cluster enters the release protection period (24 hours) by default. During this period, you can recover or immediately release the cluster. If you do not perform one of the operations on the cluster within this period, the cluster is automatically released after the period. This prevents data loss caused by unexpected cluster deletions.
