Alibaba Cloud enables you to deliver a secure and stable website for your customers in China and around the world. Your online journey in China starts here with domain registration.

If you want to host a website, email, and other business services on a server or a Content Delivery Network (CDN) node located inside Mainland China, you will need to register a domain name first. Alibaba Cloud's domain name solution allows you to register various types of domain names with Alibaba Cloud Domain service, and your domain name registration information is fully protected from malicious attacks, thanks to several security services that are built-in to our services, which includes privacy protection and a cloud security lock.

After you have registered a domain, Alibaba Cloud helps with the following steps, including real-name authentication, ICP filing, and DNS resolution processes, so that you can start providing services to your customers in China quicker.

Step 1: Register a Domain Name

Go to the Domain Name Registration page. Find the domain name that fits your business, and register your domain name.

Step 2: Complete Real-Name Authentication

Pass the real-name verification process. Note that, according to the regulations issued by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), all .cn domain name holders must submit factual, accurate, and complete information for their registered domain names.

Step 3: Obtain an ICP Filling

Obtain an ICP (Internet Content Provider) Filing through a nine-step process.

Step 4: Configure DNS Resolution Settings

Add DNS records to your domain names to make your domains accessible to users.
