OpenStore storage-compute separation (high-performance search) engine

The OpenStore storage-compute separation engine is a self-developed search engine built by Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch on a shared storage architecture. By separating data storage from compute nodes, it solves problems such as high storage costs in traditional multi-replica architectures and slow scaling due to data migration. It ensures high data availability while enabling fast elastic scaling of resources and reducing storage costs. This engine is suitable for general-purpose or search scenarios.

October 30

  • Regions: East China 1 (Hangzhou Zone J and K) and China (Hong Kong Zones B, C, and D)

  • ES versions: Available only for kernel-enhanced edition instances running version 7.10.

  • Instance types: Minimum specification is 2 cores and 8 GB of memory. Minimum number of data nodes is 4.

  • Storage capacity: Minimum local cache storage per data node is 50 GB. Minimum total logical shared storage space is 160 GB.

  • Billing method: Subscription only.

Configure public access whitelists in batches using whitelist templates

When you need to configure the same IP addresses in the public access whitelist for multiple ES instances, use the whitelist template feature. Create a reusable set of IP addresses (a template), and associate it with multiple ES instances in batches.

Upgrade v1/v2 architectures to v3 architecture manually or automatically

Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch (ES) clusters support three management architectures: basic management (v1 architecture), basic management (v2 architecture), and cloud-native new management (v3 architecture). The v3 architecture delivers comprehensive optimization and significant improvements in product feature iteration, system stability, and security. To get stronger feature support and better service experience, upgrade your v1/v2 architecture to v3 as soon as possible.
