Elasticsearch:Manage cluster tags

Last Updated:Nov 28, 2025

If you have many Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch clusters, you can use tags to categorize and manage them. Tags are key-value pairs that you can attach to clusters for better organization. You can then filter clusters by tag key and tag value.

Attach tags

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Elasticsearch Clusters.

  3. On the cluster list page, attach tags to clusters.

    • To add tags to a single cluster, in the Actions column for the target cluster, choose More > Edit Tag.

    • To add tags to multiple clusters, select the clusters and click Edit Tag at the bottom of the page.

  4. In the Edit Tag dialog box, enter a Keys and a Values. Then, click OK.

    Note
    • You can attach up to 20 tags to each cluster. Each tag key must be unique. If you attach a tag with an existing tag key, the previous value is overwritten.

    • You can attach tags to a maximum of 50 clusters at a time.

    • Tags are isolated between regions. For example, a tag created in the China (Hangzhou) region is not visible in the China (Beijing) region. You cannot use it to filter clusters in the China (Beijing) region.

Filter clusters by tag

To filter clusters by tag:

  1. Click Tag Filtering on the cluster list page.

  2. In the drop-down list, select a tag key and a tag value to filter the clusters.

After you filter the clusters, you can click the image icon next to a tag to remove that filter. You can also click Clear to remove all filters.

Detach tags

When a tag is detached from all associated clusters, it is automatically deleted from the system cache within 2 hours. In a batch operation, you can detach tags based on up to 20 tag keys at a time.

Detach tags from a single cluster

  1. In the Actions column for the target cluster, choose 更多 > Edit Tag.

  2. In the Edit Tag dialog box, click the image icon next to the tag.

  3. Click the OK button.

Detach tags from multiple clusters

  1. Select the clusters and click the Delete Tag button at the bottom of the page.

  2. In the Batch Detach Tags dialog box, select the tags and follow the on-screen instructions.
