Elasticsearch:Manage cluster tags

Last Updated:Mar 26, 2026

When you manage many Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch clusters, use tags to categorize and filter them. A tag is a key-value pair you attach to a cluster — for example, environment=production or team=infra. You can then filter the cluster list by tag key and tag value to quickly locate the clusters you need.

Attach tags

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Elasticsearch Clusters.

  3. On the cluster list page, open the tag editor:

    • Single cluster: In the Actions column for the target cluster, choose More > Edit Tag.

    • Multiple clusters: Select the clusters, then click Edit Tag at the bottom of the page.

  4. In the Edit Tag dialog box, enter a Keys value and a Values value, then click OK.

Filter clusters by tag

  1. On the cluster list page, click Tag Filtering.

  2. In the drop-down list, select a tag key and a tag value. To remove an individual filter, click the image icon next to the tag. To clear all filters, click Clear.

Detach tags

Detach tags from a single cluster

  1. In the Actions column for the target cluster, choose 更多 > Edit Tag.

  2. In the Edit Tag dialog box, click the image icon next to the tag.

  3. Click OK.

Detach tags from multiple clusters

  1. Select the clusters, then click Delete Tag at the bottom of the page.

  2. In the Batch Detach Tags dialog box, select the tags and follow the on-screen instructions.

Limits

ConstraintLimit
Tags per cluster20
Clusters per batch attach operation50
Tag keys per batch detach operation20
Tag key uniquenessEach tag key must be unique. Attaching a tag with an existing key overwrites the previous value.
Region scopeTags are scoped to the region where they are created. A tag created in the China (Hangzhou) region is not visible in the China (Beijing) region. You cannot use it to filter clusters in the China (Beijing) region.
Detached tag cleanupWhen a tag is detached from all associated clusters, it is deleted from the system cache within 2 hours.
