[Notice] Minimum daily charge for DAS Security Audit
DAS(Database Autonomy Service) is updating its billing policy for its Security Audit feature. The new policy is set to take effect on September 3, 2025.
New Charge
Effective date
September 03, 2025 (UTC+8)
New billing rule
Under the new billing structure, The billing rules for the SecurityAudit have been adjusted; billing rules for other items remain unchanged.
All instances are billed based on actual usage × unit price, with a minimum hourly charge of USD 0.1042 per instance. If the calculated hourly charge is below the minimum, it will be automatically adjusted to the minimum (for example, if an instance’s calculated hourly charge is USD 0.10, it will be billed at USD 0.1042). Minimum daily charge: each instance is billed at least USD 2.50 per day (USD 0.1042 × 24 hours).
For unit pricing details, see Billing details.
Justification
Resource assurance and service stability
The security audit service requires dedicated cloud computing, storage, and network resources to provide real-time analysis and processing capabilities. These resources are allocated on a per-instance basis. Even for instances with low log volumes, a minimum amount of resources must be reserved to maintain normal operation and ensure service stability and immediate availability.
Improved service quality
A more reasonable minimum billing rule allows for continuous investment in optimizing the performance, reliability, and analysis capabilities of the security audit service. This ultimately provides you with a better security experience.
Impact on customers
This change applies to all instances using the DAS Enterprise Edition security audit feature.
Suggestions
No configuration changes are required on your part.
We recommend reviewing your past detailed bills for the security audit feature to assess the potential impact of this change on your costs.
FAQ
Q: Will my historical bills be recalculated based on the new rules?
A: No, they will not. The new billing rules apply only to security audit fees generated after the change takes effect. Historical bills will remain unchanged and are based on the original billing rules.
Q: Will this change cause a significant increase in total costs?
A: This change primarily affects instances where the usage fees for the security audit feature have been consistently low (less than USD 0.1042/hour). The fees for these instances may increase slightly. We recommend that you evaluate the costs of the security audit feature by reviewing your historical bills.
