Effective Time

From April 30, 2025 (UTC+8), new users activating Private Zone will create zones without distinguishing domain types, with all zones being Accelerated Zone. From November 17, 2025 (UTC +8), all new zones created by new and existing users of Alibaba Cloud DNS Private Zone will only be Accelerated Zones.

Announcement To enhance product experience and service stability, Alibaba Cloud DNS Private Zone is streamlining its services by phasing out Standard Zones. This transition won't affect your current services or the effectiveness of your DNS resolutions.

Starting April 30, 2025 (UTC+8), all new users activating the Private Zone will default to creating Accelerated Zones, without differentiating between domain types.

From November 17, 2025 (UTC+8), all users will have new zones default to Accelerated Zones. These zones offer features like line-based resolution and load balancing, ensuring real-time updates and improved performance. Be aware that using Accelerated Zones might increase queries volumes and costs. To counteract potential request surges due to the lack of local caching on ECS, enabling NSCD is recommended . Existing Standard Zones won't automatically convert to Accelerated Zones, and manual upgrades are irreversible. If you have any question, contact customer service or submit a ticket on the console.
