Content

Intended customers: all customers. Feature description: The Throttle Traffic action for ALB listener forwarding rules can be used together with the Forward, Return Fixed Responses, and Redirect actions, which meets customers' granular throttling control requirements. If the action is set to Throttle Traffic, the user must also specify a Forward action for the destination server group. Otherwise, the configuration cannot take effect. 1. If the user sets both Throttle Traffic and Forward actions, requests are forwarded to the specified server group before the queries per second (QPS) reaches the threshold. Otherwise, the HTTP 503 status code is returned to the client. 2. If the user sets Throttle Traffic, Redirect, and Forward actions at the same time, requests are forwarded to the specified server group before the QPS reaches the threshold. If the QPS reaches the threshold, requests are redirected to another address. 3. If the user sets Throttle Traffic, Return Fixed Responses, and Forward actions at the same time, requests are forwarded to the specified server group before the QPS reaches the threshold. If the QPS reaches the threshold, the response defined by the user is returned to the client.
