1. Why is CloudMonitor service not available once Elastic Compute Service (ECS) Intranet is disabled?
When CloudMonitor service is enabled on an ECS instance, the communication address of cloud monitoring (open.cms.aliyun.com) is resolved to the intranet and obtains data through it. Hence, once the Intranet is disabled, cloud monitoring services will not work properly.
2. Why is the CloudMonitor system not able to access ECS data?
If you have deployed CloudMonitor Service with a firewall, then it will block the IP address of the CloudMonitor server and lead to cloud monitoring failures. To avoid this situation, you should add the IP address of the CloudMonitor server terminal to the whitelist IPs in your firewall settings. Below are the IP addresses of cloud monitoring server terminals:
3. IP address list of nodes for CloudMonitor System
The site monitoring feature of CloudMonitor System monitors eight items, namely, HTTP, PING, TCP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, POP3 and FTP. You should add the IP addresses of the following nodes to the firewall whitelist:

4. A monitoring item shows exceptions in both Hangzhou and Qingdao. Will I receive one message or two messages within one day?
You will receive two messages, as the notifications are carried out by different nodes present in different regions separately.
5. What does channel silence mean?
Channel silence means that the system will not trigger a second warning within one day after the first warning has been triggered.
Please note that the notification for service recovery will not be affected by this silence period. The default silence period of Alibaba CloudMonitor system is currently one day. For example, if a customer's site undergoes several exceptions within one day, the first exception will trigger the warning and a message will be sent. If the site resumes normal services after a while, another message will be sent to the customer. But if the site does not resume normal service and triggers the warning, no message will be sent. A new round of cycle will start the next day.
Channel silence is region specific.
6. Why is there a difference between the memory usage shown in the CloudMonitor System and in the server?
The CloudMonitor collects data every minute and shows the average value in the graph, whereas the cloud server monitoring shows the memory usage at a particular second (by using the free -m command). Hence the results may be different for this reason.
7. What is the maximum number of alarm messages raised by the CloudMonitor System?
The maximum number of alarm messages which can be raised by CloudMonitor System is 1,000 messages per month.
