Notice on End of Life of CentOS 8

Dear users:

The CentOS Project has announced the end of life (EOL) for CentOS Linux. CentOS 8 reaches EOL at the end of 2021 and will no longer receive support from the CentOS Project as of January 1, 2022. CentOS 7 is scheduled to reach EOL on June 30, 2024. For more information, visit https://blog.centos.org/2020/12/future-is-centos-stream.

Alibaba Cloud will continue to provide CentOS 8 images but will no longer update or maintain CentOS 8 image versions. Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances that were created from CentOS 8 images are not affected. If you are using CentOS Linux, Alibaba Cloud provides multiple options to migrate away from CentOS Linux, which include migration plans, support tool platforms, and long-term support. Alibaba Cloud provides multiple operating systems, including:
Anolis OS, which is compatible with CentOS Linux
Alibaba Cloud Linux, which is developed by Alibaba Cloud based on Anolis OS

Alibaba Cloud also provides other operating system images such as CentOS Stream, AlmaLinux, and Rocky Linux as replacements for CentOS Linux.
