Dear Alibaba Cloud Users,
To better serve the identity management needs of enterprises of different scales, Alibaba Cloud IDaaS EIAM will launch two paid editions: Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition. Additionally, we are launching a new Active Account-based pricing model to help you manage costs more precisely.
1. Paid Editions and Feature Overview
Standard Edition:
- Identity Sources: 1 (DingTalk/Feishu/OIDC), inbound synchronization only
- Log Audit Retention: 7 days
- Not Included: Network endpoints, branding customization, conditional access control
Enterprise Edition:
- Identity Sources: Up to 5 sources (AD/LDAP/OIDC/DingTalk/Feishu/WeChat Work/SAML/Alibaba Cloud SASE), supporting both inbound and outbound synchronization
- Log Audit Retention: 365 days
- Included Features: 1 network endpoint, conditional access control, branding customization
2. Pricing Models
IDaaS EIAM Paid Edition will support two pricing models: Account-Based Pricing(for existing users only) and Active Account-Based Pricing.
Account-Based Pricing: Billed based on the total number of user accounts created in IDaaS.
Active Account-Based Pricing: Billed based on the number of "active users" who have logged in or performed authentication within the past month.
Existing Model - Account-Based Pricing: Only existing customers can continue to use the original account count model for renewal. Existing customers can upgrade to the active user count model (cannot downgrade after upgrade).
New Model - Active Account-Based Pricing: No longer limits the number of accounts synchronized from enterprise IdP to IDaaS. Instead, billing is based on actual active user count, which can effectively reduce usage costs based on actual account usage. Please note that new purchases only support Active Account-Based Pricing; Account-based pricing is no longer available for new customers.
Pricing Rules:
- Prepaid (Base Quota): When purchasing an instance, you must pre-select the active user count as the base quota. Users exceeding this quota may experience login restrictions.
Please refer to the pricing page for specific prices.
3. Paid Instance Rule Adjustments
To ensure stable cloud resources operation and accommodate enterprise business scenarios, IDaaS EIAM Paid Edition will implement the following rule adjustments effective May 30, 2025:
New Capabilities:
- Supports active user count downgrade
- Edition downgrade, dedicated endpoint downgrade, conditional access downgrade (coming soon)
Expiration Handling:
- After expiration, functionality will be limited to Free Tier capabilities; paid capabilities can no longer be used
4. New Value-Added Capabilities (Independent Paid Modules)
IDaaS EIAM will launch the Machine Identity Management module, including M2M application management, Agent ID Guard, and static credential hosting. This module requires separate activation, and subsequent resource consumption will be settled through postpaid billing. Please refer to the sales page for specific pricing.
