Target customers: all users of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL 5.7 High-availability Edition instances based on local SSDs. Features released: ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL 5.7 High-availability Edition instances based on local SSDs now support the dedicated database proxy feature to enable read/write splitting and short-lived connection optimization. Compared with the existing multi-tenant database proxy feature of MySQL 5.6 and 5.7 instances, the dedicated database proxy feature of MySQL 5.7 instances uses independent computing resources to provide the proxy service. The dedicated database proxy feature has the following advantages: 1. While the proxy service is in the enabled state, a unified proxy endpoint is permanently retained free of charge. This feature allows you to publish an application without modifying the connection endpoint of the database when you enable or disable read/write splitting, which significantly reduces O&M costs. 2. Independent computing resources are used to prevent the unstable proxy service caused by resource competition in earlier versions. 3. An independent instance proxy is used to provide scalable resources and support higher traffic. 4. The dedicated database proxy feature is currently free to use while it is in the public preview stage. The time when the feature will begin to be billed will be announced at a later date.
