[Alibaba Cloud] [ApsaraDB for RDS] [Some Instance Types of ApsaraDB for RDS Basic Edition Will No Longer Be Available for Purchase]

To enhance user experience and improve service performance, the architecture of ApsaraDB for RDS is upgraded and optimized recently. Consequently, some specifications of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL and ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL instances with Basic Edition will be phased out. If the instance type that you want to purchase is in the list of the plan, we recommend that you select recommended RDS for PostgreSQL instances listed in the document with the same price as alternative, or select RDS for MySQL Serverless edition with up to 50% savings.
Effective Date: January 31, 2023 onward

RDS for MySQL, Basic Edition, 1C1G, mysql.n1.micro.1
RDS for MySQL, Basic Edition, 1C2G, mysql.n2.small.1
RDS for PostgreSQL, all General-purpose specifications of Basic Edition, see documentation (https://www.alibabacloud.com/help/apsaradb-for-rds/latest/the-basic-specifications-of-pg-were-dropped) to find the full list.

1. If you want to purchase any of the preceding phased-out specifications, we recommend that you replace it with an available instance type that provides the same specifications or a serverless ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance to achieve high cost-efficiency.
2. You will no longer be able to create pay-as-you-go or subscription RDS instances with preceding specifications since the effective date (the end of January 2023). For existing instances that adopted preceding specifications, the basic usage and features of the instance will not be affected over a certain period of time, including renewal, billing method change, specification change, instance cloning, and data restoration.
