CDN Pricing

CDN Pricing Methods

The price structure for Alibaba Cloud CDN consists of basic services and value-added services.

Basic services consists of Pay-By-Traffic and Pay-By-Bandwidth. Value-added services consist of HTTPS Secure Acceleration and Subscription Traffic Package.

Users may flexibly switch between the Pay-By-Bandwidth and Pay-By-Traffic billing methods. The new billing method will take effect from the subsequent billing cycle.

Billing Method Description Applicable Scenarios
Pay-By-Bandwidth Users are billed by daily peak bandwidth. A peak bandwidth value is recorded at intervals of 5 minutes for a total of 288 values a day. The highest value is used for billing purposes. This billing method is applicable to scenarios where the domain name traffic curve is relatively flat or where bandwidth utilization exceeds a daily rate of 30%.
Pay-By-Traffic Users are billed according to the actual traffic used and calculated on an hourly basis. This billing method is applicable to scenarios where the domain name traffic curve has substantial fluctuations and bandwidth spikes or where the bandwidth utilization is less than 30% for the day

Note: The calculation for bandwidth utilization is as follows: Bandwidth Utilization = Actual Usage (GB)/(Peak Bandwidth (Mbps) x 10.54) For example: 1 Mbps bandwidth at 100% utilization for 24 hours would generate 10.54 GB of traffic usage.

HTTPS Secure Acceleration

Price of HTTPS secure acceleration refers to Basic fee (charged for downstream traffic OR peak bandwidth per day) + Fee charged for HTTPS requests

Billing rules

• Billing item: Static HTTPS requests

• Method of payment: Post payment

• Billing cycle:Billed by hour; fee deducted in real time

Note:

• Billing of Static HTTPS requests: Total billing is based on the cumulative static HTTPS requests generated by all domains for which secure acceleration is active on the current day.

Outbound data transfer plan

Description: The data transfer plan uses the subscription billing method, and supports the one-off payment. The plan takes effect immediately after the payment. The excess data transfer is billed by traffic.
CDN Data Transfer Plan Released

Billing rules

• Billed item: outbound traffic.

• Billing method: subscription.

• Billing cycle: The system calculates billing on a daily basis, and deducts consumed traffic from the data transfer plan.

• Validity period: one year.

Notes

• To use the outbound traffic purchased in the data transfer plan, you must use the Pay by Traffic billing method. If the current billing method is Pay by Bandwidth, the unused data in your data transfer plan is unavailable. Therefore, you must switch to the Pay by Traffic billing method.

• You can choose a target region from eight available regions to accelerate the content delivery.

• A data transfer plan can be used only by the Alibaba Cloud account that purchased the plan.

• Multiple data transfer plans are sorted in ascending order of expiration time. The plan with the least remaining validity days has higher payment priority.

• To check the balance of your outbound traffic quota and view the details of your data transfer plan, choose Billing Management > Billing Management > Resource Packages > Overview, and select CDN Data Traffic Plan from the Product drop-down list.

• The outbound traffic quota in the data transfer plan is only available within the validity period. The unused traffic quota is invalid after the plan expires. No alternatives or complementary measures will be provided.
