Seoul, South Korea, March 30, 2022 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, today announced the availability of its first data center in South Korea, underlining its commitment to support local digital transformation.

The opening of the new data center in Korea is part of Alibaba Cloud’s expansion plan in the Asia Pacific region. It brings the global trusted cloud leader’s total availability zones to 82, spreading across 26 regions worldwide.

“We are launching the data center in Korea to meet the strong needs for digital transformation from our Korean customers. Through the launch of the data center, we will continue to enable Korean customers with the latest cloud-based technologies and solutions to succeed in their digital journey,” said Unique Song, Regional General Manager of Japan & South Korea, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.

Alibaba Cloud has continued to invest in South Korea through the expansion of its cloud infrastructure, alongside an increase in both digital talent training and local hiring. It has established a local team and trained them to address the specific needs of clients and deliver a personalized customer service experience.
