Alibaba Cloud server remote connection method

Introduction

There are three options for remote connection to the Alibaba Cloud server: third-party client tools, VNC, and Workbench. The third-party customer service includes PuTTY, Xshell, and SSH commands. VNC and Workbench are remote connections that come with the Alibaba Cloud server management console.

1. Alibaba Cloud server remote connection

Alibaba Cloud servers are divided into two types: Linux and Windows according to the operating system, and the remote connection methods are different for different operating systems; the local clients used by users include Windows computers, MacOS, Linux computers, iOS or Android and other mobile phone devices. Different devices have different remote connections.

Workbench and VNC are in the Alibaba Cloud server management console, find the target cloud server in the instance list, and click the "Remote Connection" button on the right.

In the opened remote connection window, you can choose Workbench and VNC login methods.

2. Alibaba Cloud Linux server remote connection method

Alibaba Cloud server Linux system remote connection can choose VNC, Workbench and PuTTY client three ways. Local use Windows computer, Linux computer, local client different connection methods are different.

Local Linux, macOS and other Unix-like systems

• VNC: Log in to the Linux cloud server with a password

• Workbench: Log in to Alibaba Cloud Linux cloud server through password or key authentication, log in with PAM credentials

• SSH command connection: use the SSH key to log in to the Linux server, SSH user name and password to log in to the Linux server

Local Windows computer:

• Third-party clients such as PuTTY: PuTTY uses the SSH key pair to log in to the cloud server, and PuTTY uses the username and password to log in to the cloud server

3. Alibaba Cloud Windows server remote connection method

3.1 Local Windows computer

• VNC: Use a password to log in to the Alibaba Cloud Windows server tutorial;

• Workbench: Log in to the Alibaba Cloud Windows cloud server with a password or key, and log in to the Alibaba Cloud Windows server through PAM;

• Remote Desktop Connection (MSTSC) Windows Server;

3.2 Local Linux computer

• VNC: Log in to the Windows server with a password rdesktop: Use rdesktop to log in to the Windows server;

• Workbench: use username and password to log in to the Windows server, PAM authentication to log in to the Windows server;

3.3 iOS, Android and other mobile device operating systems

• Use a mobile device to connect to a Windows server

3.4 Local macOS

• Workbench: Log in to the Windows server with username and password, and log in to the Windows server with PAM credentials;

• VNC: use a password to log in to the Windows server;

In addition to the local Windows computer, there are several situations where the remote method is consistent:

Alibaba Cloud server operating systems are divided into Windows and Linux; local clients are divided into Windows computers and Linux computers. Select the corresponding remote connection method according to the actual cloud server operating system and local client.
