Thank you for your continued support of Alibaba Cloud Database Autonomy Service (DAS). We have upgraded the DAS product suite to better meet your database management needs. The new suite features a clearer architecture, more powerful capabilities, and flexible payment models to provide a more professional and intelligent service experience.
Core changes
Layered services with enhanced capabilities
Basic Service remains free. It covers basic O&M capabilities, such as infrastructure monitoring and slow SQL statement analysis, to help you quickly understand the operational status of your database.
Independent upgrades for high-value services: Advanced features from the original Basic Service, such as transaction lock analysis, automatic SQL optimization, and automatic SQL throttling, are now part of Alibaba Cloud Managed Services. New security protection features, such as whitelist management and sensitive data detection, are now offered as Security Services. These services use powerful AI capabilities to enhance key database O&M and security scenarios. This approach uses computing power to drive O&M upgrades and AI to protect your databases, helping your business meet complex challenges.
AI-driven DAS Agent for a new era of intelligent management
DAS Agent is a fully managed, intelligent database management assistant. It supports databases on the cloud, self-managed databases, and cross-cloud databases. Using AI, it automatically optimizes performance, predicts risks, and provides one-stop O&M, making management effortless.
Enhanced Audit Log service for seamless compliance
To meet data security and compliance needs, the original Enterprise Edition Audit Log service has been enhanced. The compliance audit service category is now optimized to provide multi-AZ backups and long-term log retention. This meets the requirements of personal information protection, Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS), and regulations outside China, helping you easily handle audit challenges.

Feature checklist
Feature | Description | Basic Service | Alibaba Cloud Managed Services | Audit Log Service | Security Services | DAS Agent |
Uses machine learning and fine-grained monitoring data to automatically perform 24/7 anomaly detection without manual activation. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | DAS Agent invokes the enabled capabilities of basic services, Alibaba Cloud Managed Services, Security Services, and audit log services to provide intelligent diagnostics and O&M.
Provides a wide range of performance monitoring metrics and supports custom charts. It offers powerful diagnostics capabilities to promptly detect events in database instances, automatically diagnose them, and provide root cause analysis and suggestions. You can also manually run diagnostics for a selected time range. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Select the database instances and metrics to monitor. Compare metrics across different database instances and use multi-metric filter interaction to monitor the operational status of your instances. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
View the real-time performance of all connected instances. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Performs scheduled daily inspections and scoring for all database instances. You can also manually initiate inspections for selected instances and time periods to understand their operational status. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Use the Database Autonomy Service (DAS) alerting feature to customize alert rules and templates. When a database instance triggers an alert rule, DAS automatically sends an alert. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
When a database fails, use the quick diagnostics feature to rapidly diagnose its performance over a selected time period. This provides a comprehensive view of database performance to quickly identify the cause of anomalies. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Initiate a diagnosis of an instance's health for a specified time period. This helps you assess the instance's health from multiple aspects, such as slow query logs, tablespaces, and performance trends, to quickly locate anomalies. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
In the autonomy center, you can directly view anomalies, optimization events, auto scaling events, and other events that occurred within a selected time range. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
When database storage space is insufficient, set a storage space threshold. When the threshold is reached, the system automatically scales out the storage. This ensures that data can be written without loss and prevents database crashes from affecting your business. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
When database traffic increases and compute resources are insufficient, automatically scale out the instance type to quickly adapt to peak traffic. It also supports scaling in the instance type when traffic decreases to avoid resource waste. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Predicts performance metrics for the next 24 hours based on the instance's historical data from the past 10 days. It provides scale-out suggestions when the predicted metrics reach the threshold. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
If your business workload has cyclical patterns (such as high traffic during specific periods) or if you anticipate a surge in traffic from a promotion, use scheduled auto scaling. This feature scales out the instance type for a specified duration to handle the increased database load. After the duration ends, the system restores the instance to its original type, meeting business needs while controlling costs. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
When the average CPU utilization of a database instance reaches the set threshold within the observation window, DAS scales out the number of CPU cores. It uses surplus resources on the same host machine in addition to the original instance type. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Insufficient database storage space can prevent data from being written, leading to data loss or even database crashes, which severely impacts business operations. DAS supports automatic scaling when the used storage space of a database instance reaches or exceeds the set threshold. The instance does not need to be restarted during scaling, so your business is not affected. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
View real-time session information for a target instance and perform O&M operations. These operations include ending sessions, 10-second SQL analysis, SQL throttling, and optimization. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
View real-time session information for a target instance and perform O&M operations, such as real-time transaction analysis, lock wait analysis, and session analysis. | ❌ | ✔️ | ❌ | ❌
Basic Edition of slow query log. | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️
Performs aggregation statistics and automatic tagging at the SQL template level based on detailed slow query log data. It provides multi-dimensional filtering to help you quickly locate problematic SQL statements. | ❌ | ✔️ | ❌ | ❌
Uses offline data analysis to provide T+1 analysis and automatic tagging of slow SQL statement statistics. This helps you automatically classify slow SQL statements and prioritize them for administration. It also provides administration suggestions and a data exporting feature. | ❌ | ✔️ | ❌ | ❌
When troubleshooting failures and performance degradation in Tair (Redis OSS-compatible) database instances, use latency insight.
