The Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Forum’s privacy certifications, the Global CBPR and Global Privacy Recognition for Processors (PRP) System, are officially live as of June 2nd, 2025. The Global CBPR Framework (2023) includes nine guiding principles referencing the OECD’s Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Trans-Border Flows of Personal Data, and guidance to assist Global CBPR Forum Members in implementing the framework in domestic approaches to data protection and privacy, as well as forum-wide arrangements for interpreting its cross-border elements.

The Global PRP certification was designed to help personal information processors demonstrate their ability to provide effective implementation of a controller’s data protection and privacy requirements. It also provides assurance that processing is consistent with a controller’s applicable requirements for processing under the Global CBPR System.
