Alibaba Cloud offers comprehensive full-stack AI upgrade for the agentic era
HANGZHOU, China, August 25, 2026 – Alibaba Cloud, a global leading provider of AI infrastructure and the intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has been named a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud AI Infrastructure report.
Alibaba Cloud believes this recognition shows its full-stack AI capabilities across a range of services from high-performance infrastructure to AI model and agent development platforms, and pretrained foundation models.
The report evaluates hyperscale vendors and specialist cloud providers “delivering infrastructure optimized for AI workloads including AI model training, inference and servicing”. This marks the first time Gartner has published a Magic Quadrant report on cloud AI infrastructure.
“As AI transforms how businesses operate, companies need reliable infrastructure to scale. We are committed to a full-stack AI cloud ecosystem. By providing leading model as a service alongside AI-native tools and agentic cloud infrastructure, we make it easier for our global customers to seamlessly put AI to work,” said Dr. Feifei Li, Chief Technology Officer and President of International Business of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.

Alibaba Cloud provides an end-to-end platform for AI life cycle management, with its infrastructure capabilities supported by AI development tools.PAI-Lingjun, a key component of Alibaba Cloud’s AI infrastructure offering, is a specialized compute platform optimized for large-scale training and inference workloads.
As enterprises move to scale generative AI and agentic capabilities, demand is growing for cloud platforms that can support more complex AI workloads. Through Model Studio, Alibaba’s one-stop, enterprise-grade AI development platform offering access to its full suite of Qwen foundation models, customers can choose the model approach that best fits their performance, cost and deployment requirements.
In a separate report, the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Observability Platforms, Alibaba Cloud was named a Challenger. Gartner defines observability platforms as products that help organizations understand and optimize the health, performance and behavior of applications, services, infrastructure and AI agents, as well as user experience. These platforms detect anomalies and identify root causes to enable early remediation of system issues. According to Gartner, Challengers demonstrate broad market reach and large observability platform deployments.
Alibaba Cloud’s continuous development in AI infrastructure reflects its unwavering commitment to long-term technological innovation with its “AI+Cloud” strategy, which brings together proprietary chips, cloud infrastructure, foundation models and applications under a single full-stack offering.
During the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 in July, Alibaba Cloud introduced a suite of agent-native technologies aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of AI agents across industries.
