"When we evaluated foundation models for our agentic platform, Qwen stood out immediately. It gave us the accuracy our regulated enterprise customers demand — legal, financial, government — while cutting our inference costs by roughly 40%. That's not a marginal improvement; it's what lets us take AI from 'interesting pilot' to 'deployed in production' for clients who were previously sitting on the fence."

About ReN3
ReN3 is a Singapore-based agentic AI work productivity platform purpose-built for regulated enterprises across Southeast Asia — including financial services, government, legal, and healthcare. The platform enables organisations to deploy fully sovereign AI agents that handle enterprise knowledge retrieval, document processing, and complex multi-step workflows, with support for air-gapped and on-premise deployments. ReN3 has guided over 40 enterprises through AI transformation, addressing the unique trust, accuracy, and data sovereignty requirements that general-purpose AI platforms cannot meet in the region's heavily regulated industries.
Challenge
As an agentic AI platform serving regulated enterprises, ReN3 faced a compounding set of challenges: ● High Inference Costs: Token consumption scaled quickly as customers deployed agents across legal review, procurement, treasury, and compliance workflows.
● Data Sovereignty Requirements: Data sovereignty regulations across Southeast Asian markets required LLM workloads to be hosted locally (e.g., within Singapore), severely limiting which providers could be used.
● Rapid Model Innovation: ReN3 needed access to rapidly evolving foundation models to keep pace with innovation and rising customer expectations. Training and fine-tuning on frontier models had to be both affordable and flexible, so the platform could deliver increasingly accurate results without locking customers into a single vendor's roadmap or geography.
Why Alibaba Cloud
ReN3 turned to Alibaba Cloud for three key reasons:● Competitive Cost Structure: Alibaba's Qwen models delivered frontier-class performance with strong cost efficiency, making production-scale agentic AI economically viable for regulated enterprise workloads.
● Rapid Model Innovation: The pace of Qwen's model innovation is exceptional. With frequent releases across the Qwen family — including hybrid thinking modes and specialised variants — ReN3 could continually upgrade its capabilities without migrating to a new provider.
● Dedicated Technical Support: Alibaba Cloud provided dedicated technical support, working closely with ReN3's engineering team to optimise model deployment, tune performance for domain-specific tasks, and ensure compliance with local hosting requirements across Southeast Asian markets.
Key Results
● Cost Efficiency: Reduced AI inference costs by 40%, lowering per-token spend versus previous providers and enabling customers to scale agent deployments across more workflows without proportional cost increases.● Output Quality: Achieved a 30% improvement in output quality, with Qwen models producing more accurate and contextually relevant results for document analysis, contract review, and regulatory compliance.
● Response Speed: Delivered 30% faster response times, reducing latency in agent reasoning and task execution to improve end-user productivity across high-volume workflows.
● Model Flexibility: Gained access to the full Qwen model family, allowing ReN3 to match the right model to each task and optimise the trade-off between capability and cost per workflow.
● Sovereign Deployment: Unlocked local hosting in Singapore and across the region, satisfying data residency requirements that had previously blocked enterprise adoption.
Looking Forward
ReN3 and Alibaba Cloud are expanding their partnership toward a joint go-to-market motion, bringing sovereign agentic AI solutions to a broader base of regulated enterprises across Southeast Asia. ReN3 also plans to integrate Alibaba Cloud's AI-powered development tools — including vibe coding products — to accelerate how its customers build, customise, and deploy AI agents, making agentic workflows more accessible to non-technical teams.
