During the 2021 Double 11 Cloud Services Sale, Alibaba Cloud is offering a variety of good offers for cloud services, including an ECS Burstable Instance for $1 USD for the first month. Let’s take a look at how to get this offer step-by-step.

What Is an ECS Burstable Instance?

A burstable instance is a virtual machine that can increase CPU performance if there is a spike in CPU usage on a virtual machine. These instances are usually well suited for Web Application workloads.

For $1 USD, you can set up a burstable instance from the Type t5 instance family, which has 4 vCPUs and 16 GB of total memory.

Setting up Your Burstable Instance

Step 1: Log in to your Alibaba Cloud account and visit the Double 11 Cloud Services Sale page.
Step 2: On the Cloud Services Sale page, scroll down to the special offers section and select the Burstable instance-4C16G under the Featured Products. Click the Buy Now button:

Step 3: You will be redirected to the Alibaba Cloud Elastic Compute Service (ECS) custom launch console to help you select your instance. Select your preferred billing method:

Step 4: Select the preferred Region in which you want the instance to be located:

Step 5: Select the Burstable Type t5 instance (which is ecs.t5-c1m4.xlarge type) and click Next:

Step 6: Select your preferred Operating System Image, the Storage space, and the Backup Period. Then, click Next:

Step 7: Click Confirm the Product Features and Purchase:

Step 8: Select your networking configurations (such as the VPC, security group, elastic network interface) and click Next:

Note: You can also assign a public IPv4 address to your instance if you want the instance to be publicly accessible over the Internet.

Step 9: Select the most suitable way to log into your instance. You can use the key pairs or a username and password. Then, enter an Instance Name and Hostname to your instance and click Next:

Note: You can also assign scripts to the User Data section of your instance to be run during the creation process, such as installing software packages required by your application.

Step 10: Create the tags you would want to associate with your instance and click Next:

Step 11: Preview all the configurations for your instance and click Create Order:

Step 12: On the order page, click Purchase:

Step 13: Finally, you will get a notification that your purchase has been processed successfully. Click Console to view your new instance:

That’s it! Now you know how to set up a burstable instance for $1 USD during the Alibaba Cloud Double 11 Cloud Services Sale.
