This topic describes how to request permissions on tables in Security Center and how to view the request status in Data Map.

Go to the details page of a table

  1. Log on to the DataWorks console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Workspaces.
  3. Find the required workspace and click Data Analytics in the Actions column.
  4. On the DataStudio page, click the Icon icon in the upper-left corner and choose All Products > DataMap. The homepage of Data Map appears.
  5. In the top navigation bar, click All Data.
  6. In the upper part of the All Data page, select a table type from the drop-down list based on your requirements.
  7. On the tab that appears, click the name of the table on which you want to request permissions.

Request permissions on tables in Security Center (latest version)

  1. On the table details page, click Apply for Permission in the upper-left corner.

    Note If the table is hidden, the Apply for Permission button is not displayed on the table details page.
  2. The Permission application tab in the latest version of Security Center appears. For more information, see Data access control.
  3. Select the tables on which you want to request permissions.
    1. In the Application Content section, set Workspace and Project.

      You can use the data access control feature to request only permissions on MaxCompute tables.

      The default value of Application Type is Table and that of Engine type is MaxCompute.
    2. Select the tables on which you want to request permissions below the Table to be added search box.
      After you select tables, the information of the tables is displayed on the right. You can click the Show icon on the left side of a table name to view all the fields in the table. You can request the permissions on some or all fields. By default, the permissions on all fields are requested. Request permissions on tables
  4. In the Application information section, set the parameters.

    User
    • Current login account: Request the permissions on the tables for the account that is used to log on to the current workspace.
    • Dispatch access account: Request the permissions on the tables for the account that has a scheduling access identity. If you select this option, you must set the Workspace parameter.
    • Apply on behalf of others: Request the permissions on the tables for an account that is not used to log on to the current workspace. If you select this option, you must set the Username parameter.
    Workspace The account that has a scheduling access identity.
    Username The username of the account that is not used to log on to the current workspace.
    Reason for application The reason why you want to request the permissions.
  5. Click Apply for permission to submit the request.
    You can view the processing details and record of the current request on the Permission application record tab.

Request permissions on tables in Security Center (earlier version)

On the table details page, click Apply for Permission in the upper-left corner. The Permission application tab in the latest version of Security Center appears. To return to the earlier version of Security Center, click Return to old version in the upper-right corner.

  1. On the table details page, click Apply for Permission in the upper-left corner. The Permission application tab in the latest version of Security Center appears.

  2. Click Return to old version in the upper-right corner. The My Permissions page in the earlier version of Security Center appears.
  3. Click Request Permission to go to the Table Permission Request page.
  4. On the Table Permission Request page, set the parameters as required.

    Parameter Description
    Workspace The workspace to which the table belongs.
    Environment The environment in which the permissions are used. For a workspace in standard mode, the valid values are Development and Production. For a workspace in simple mode, the valid value is Production.
    MaxCompute Project The name of the MaxCompute project that is associated with the DataWorks workspace you selected. The value is automatically generated and cannot be changed.
    Grant To The type of the account that requires the permissions. Valid values: Current Account, System Account for Production Environment, and Apply on behalf of others.
    Reason for Request The reason why you want to request permissions on the table. Enter a reason for faster approval.
    Objects Requested The table on which you want to request permissions.
  5. Click Submit.

View the request status

  1. Click the Icon icon in the upper-left corner of the DataStudio page and choose All Products > DataMap. The homepage of Data Map appears.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click My Data.
  3. On the My Data page, click Permission Management in the left-side navigation pane.
  4. On the page that appears, click the Submitted by Me tab.
  5. Find the required request record and click View in the Actions column to view the request status.
