Third-Party AI Agents Embed within Qwen AI Across Devices

Alibaba's consumer-facing Qwen AI has launched an open platform, allowing external partners to integrate services into Qwen across smartphones, computers, and AI smart glasses.

The onboarded partner agents cover more than ten service categories, including logistics, home services, car and property rentals, smart-home appliance controls, and financial information. They complement the everyday services already available through Alibaba’s ecosystem.

Unlike a conventional chatbot, an AI agent can understand context, remember preferences, and complete multi-step tasks. Users can simply @-mention a service or tap the dot badge to open its agent.

For example, the SF Express agent can use a user's saved contacts and addresses to handle a request as simple as: "send a document to my client in Shanghai."

Users can also rent a car, book a commuter bus seat, or track a flight without switching between apps. With user authorization, a financial-information agent can review an investment portfolio, identify duplicate holdings or concentration risks, and suggest potential adjustments.

Partners can connect their existing agents to Qwen through standardized protocols, with one-click authorization and end-to-end testing. Rather than building a consumer channel from scratch, they can use Qwen's underlying infrastructure—including AI payments, account and order management—as well as front-end components and templates for multimodal interactions.

Qwen's AI capabilities can also help partners make their services more proactive. A rental-services provider, for instance, could create a personalized tenant calendar for cleaning, repairs, lease renewals and moves—then reach out before a need is voiced.

For AI smart glasses, the platform supports two modes: skill integration and industry customization. In Skill mode, developers can create capabilities with natural-language prompts. One example is a "What's Around Me" skill that uses the glasses' intelligent imaging capabilities to alert visually impaired users to obstacles ahead.

Industry customization, meanwhile, enables partners to develop tailored services for enterprise customers with specific integration needs across Qwen hardware.
