Quick BI:Overview

The permission management feature of Quick BI allows permission administrators to grant users the permissions on a specified resource or multiple resources at a time. On the Centralized Authorization page, permission administrators can view all resources in the Quick BI organization. Permission administrators can also select a resource and grant users the permissions to view the resource or collaboratively edit the resource.

Scenarios

Multiple departments share a data decision-making system. A permission administrator grants specified permissions to department employees in a centralized manner.

Go to the Grant Permissions by User tab

Log on to the After you Quick BI the console, you can select resources and authorize centralized authorization in the configuration panel. image.png

Procedure

Manage permissions from resources to users: allows you to manage portal data sources, dashboards, data dashboards, and worksheets in a fine-grained manner. This allows you to manage permissions from a global perspective.

① Select a workspace

② Select the resource type and name

③ Select Edit Resource Permission

4. Select the Export (Including View) or View permission and specify Expiration Date.

Business intelligence (BI) portals

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit BI portals, and view and export the menus or content of BI portals.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified BI portal.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified BI portal, the users can collaboratively edit the BI portal, and view and export the menus or content of the BI portal.

  • Export (Including View): the permission to export the menus or content of a specified BI portal.

    If specified users are granted the Export (Including View) permission on a specified BI portal, the users can view and export the menus or content of the BI portal.

  • View: the permission to view the menus or content of a specified BI portal.

    If specified users are granted the View permission on a specified BI portal, the users can view the menus or content of the BI portal.

Dashboard

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit dashboards, export the components of dashboards, or view the components of dashboards.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified dashboard.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified dashboard, the users can collaboratively edit the dashboard, and view and export the components of the dashboard.

  • Export (Including View): the permission to export the components of a specified dashboard.

    If specified users are granted the Export (Including View) permission on a specified dashboard, the users can view and export the components of the dashboard.

  • View: the permission to view the components of a specified dashboard.

    If specified users are granted the View permission on a specified dashboard, the users can view the components of the dashboard.

Data dashboard

You can grant the permissions to edit and view the data dashboard.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a data dashboard.

    After the authorization is granted, users with effective permissions can collaboratively edit the data dashboard and view the data dashboard.

  • View: the permissions to view the dashboard.

    After authorization, users whose permissions take effect can view the data dashboard.

Spreadsheet

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit workbooks, export data of workbooks, or view data of workbooks.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified workbook.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified workbook, the users can collaboratively edit the workbook, and view and export data of the workbook.

  • Export (Including View): the permission to export data of a specified workbook.

    If specified users are granted the Export (Including View) permission on a specified workbook, the users can view and export data of the workbook.

  • View: the permission to view data of a specified workbook.

    If specified users are granted the View permission on a specified workbook, the users can view data of the workbook.

Ad hoc queries

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit ad hoc queries, export the results of ad hoc queries, or view the results of ad hoc queries.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified ad hoc query.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified ad hoc query, the users can edit the ad hoc query, and view and export the result of the ad hoc query.

  • Export (Including View): the permission to export the result of a specified ad hoc query.

    If specified users are granted the Export (Including View) permission on a specified ad hoc query, the users can view and export the result of the ad hoc query.

  • View: the permission to view the result of a specified ad hoc query.

    If specified users are granted the View permission on a specified ad hoc query, the users can view the result of the ad hoc query.

Downloads

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit download tasks, export data of download tasks, or view data of download tasks.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified download task.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified download task, the users can collaboratively edit the download task, and view and export data of the download task.

  • Export (Including View): the permission to export data of a specified download task.

    If specified users are granted the Export (Including View) permission on a specified download task, the users can view and export data of the download task.

  • View: the permission to view data of a specified download task.

    If specified users are granted the View permission on a specified download task, the users can view data of the download task.

Forms

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit forms, submit data in forms, or manage data in forms.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified form.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified form, the users can collaboratively edit the form, and manage and submit data in the form.

  • Submit and Manage Data: the permission to submit and manage data in a specified form.

    If specified users are granted the Submit and Manage Data permission on a specified form, the users can manage and submit data in the form.

  • Submit Data: the permission to submit data in a specified form.

    If specified users are granted the Submit Data permission on a specified form, the users can submit data in the form.

Dataset

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to collaboratively edit datasets, column-level permissions, and row-level permissions.

  • Collaborative Authorization: If collaborative-access permissions are granted to developers on a specified dataset, the developers can manage the dataset at the same time.

    • Edit: the permission to edit a specified dataset.

      If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified dataset, the users can collaboratively edit the dataset and analyze data based on the dataset.

    • Use: the permission to use a specified dataset.

      If specified users are granted the Use permission on a specified dataset, the users can analyze data based on the dataset.

  • Column-level Permissions: To ensure data security, you can grant users the column-level permissions to hide or mask specific field values for the users.

    • View Prohibited: prohibits a specified user to view the specific fields in the dataset.

      If this permission rule is specified for specific users, the users cannot view the specified fields in the dataset.

    • Data Masking: masks specific fields in the dataset.

      If this permission rule is specified for specific users, the users cannot view the complete values of the specified fields in the dataset. The users can view only the masked field values.

  • Grant Row-level Permissions: You can grant users the row-level permissions to narrow down the scope of field data that the users can view. When the user queries fields on a dashboard, the user can view only the field values that meet the conditions. This ensures data security.

Data source

Permission administrators can grant users the permissions to edit and use data sources.

  • Edit: the permission to edit a specified data source.

    If specified users are granted the Edit permission on a specified data source, the users can collaboratively edit the data source and create a dataset based on the data source.

  • Use: the permission to use a specified data source.

    If specified users are granted the Use permission on a specified data source, the users can create a dataset based on the data source.

Configure synchronization settings

During permission authorization by resource, you can use the Synchronization Settings feature to quickly reuse permission configurations. This way, you can synchronize permission configurations of a resource to another resource of the same type. This feature improves the permission configuration efficiency.

Synchronization Mode supports Incremental and Overwrite.

  • Incremental: The original permissions of the resources to be synchronized are not affected. Only the missing permissions are added.

  • Overwrite: clears the original permissions on the resources to be synchronized and overwrites the permissions with the permissions on the current resources.
