Alibaba is accelerating its wearable AI strategy with the global debut of Qwen Glasses at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, unifying its AI ecosystem under the flagship Qwen brand.
The new smart eyewear is designed to align with Alibaba’s integrated Qwen AI strategy. The Qwen Glasses product line debuts with two distinct series: the premium S1 and the G1 for everyday accessibility, featuring top-tier hardware specifications and a newly introduced sunglasses variant of G1 available in seven vibrant lens colors to cater for diverse style preferences and usage scenarios.
The latest Qwen Glasses run on Alibaba’s most advanced Qwen AI model, enabling real-time translation, HD capture, meeting transcription, and visual recognition.
Qwen Glasses will fully integrate with the Qwen App, with agentic task-execution features rolling out in phases starting late March. Users in China will soon complete hands-free actions—such as ordering food delivery, booking hotels, or hailing rides—via simple voice commands.
Pricing has been strategically positioned to accelerate adoption: after applying national consumer incentives and platform subsidies, the flagship G1 series is available at as low as RMB 1,997 (approximately $275), significantly lowering the entry barrier for premium AI wearables.
Pre-orders are now live across Alibaba’s online platforms and select offline retail partners in China, with official sales commencing March 8.

The international version is planned for global rollout within 2026, featuring deep integrations with leading services to meet global user demand.
Qwen Glasses represent another key milestone in the company’s AI strategy: translating foundational model capabilities into scalable, real-world applications layered on top of its commerce and services infrastructure.
Last November, Alibaba launched its latest consumer-facing AI application Qwen App powered by its Qwen AI model, marking the company’s most significant step yet into the consumer AI market.
Over 130 million consumers used Qwen App for the first time for purchases using AI during its Chinese New Year (CNY) campaign, marking one of the largest real-world tests of agentic commerce to date.
In February, Qwen App has achieved 203 million monthly active users (MAU) with an explosive 552% increase from January, becoming the world’s fastest-growing AI application, according to the latest AI product ranking released by Aicpb.com, a website that tracks the popularity of global AI services.
