SAG-1000 web configuration
This topic describes how to configure an SAG-1000 device (software version 2.0.3) using its local web console.
Background information
We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to prevent browser compatibility issues.Step 1: Configure your local client
Before you configure the SAG-1000 device using its local web console, you must set a static IP address for the client used to access the console.
- Windows: Follow these steps to configure a static IP address on a client running Windows 10.
- Right-click the network connection icon in the notification area, and then click Open Network & Internet settings.
- In the right-side pane, click Change adapter options.
- Right-click the network connection you are using, and then click Properties.
- Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Select Use the following IP address, and then enter a static IP address and a subnet mask. Important Ensure the IP address is within the management CIDR block of the gateway device (default: 192.168.0.0/24) and does not conflict with other IP addresses. For example, you can use 192.168.0.99. A gateway or DNS configuration is not required.
- Click OK.
- macOS: Follow these steps to configure a static IP address on a client running macOS.
- On the desktop, click the System PreferencesInternet and wireless icon, and then click Open the Network and Sharing Center.
- Select the network you are using, and then click Advanced.
- On the Ethernet settings page, click the TCP/IP tab.
- From the Configure IPv4 drop-down list, select Manually, and then enter a static IP address and a subnet mask. Important Ensure the IP address is within the management CIDR block of the gateway device (default: 192.168.0.0/24) and does not conflict with other IP addresses. For example, you can use 192.168.0.99. A router or DNS configuration is not required.
Step 2: Set a password for the initial logon
The first time you log on to the local web console, you must set a logon password.
- The Smart Access Gateway (SAG) device is powered on and running properly.
- A static IP address is configured for the local client. For more information, see Step 1: Configure your local client.
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect your local PC to port 2 of the SAG device.
- On your local PC, open a web browser and enter
192.168.0.1in the address bar.192.168.0.1is the default address for the SAG-1000 local web console. - On your first logon, set a password.
Store your password securely. If you forget it, you can press the RESET button to clear it.
- Log on to the local web console.
Step 3: Configure the device
After logging on to the local web console of the SAG device, you can configure the device. The SAG-1000 device offers various features for different deployment scenarios. - Custom CIDR Block: Lets you enter a custom CIDR block. The system automatically allocates an interface IP address and a DHCP address pool. You can also manually modify the allocated addresses.
- Available CIDR block: If you have configured an on-premises route in the SAG management console, the available CIDR block is automatically retrieved and displayed for you to select. For example, 192.XX.XX.XX.
- Configure the management port.
- In the top navigation bar, click Configure.
- Click the Manage Management Ports tab to modify the configuration of the management port.
The default management CIDR block for an SAG-1000 device is 192.168.0.0/24, with a default management port IP address of 192.168.0.1. You can modify this configuration as needed. For parameter details, see Configure the management port.
- Manage routes.
