Add a static route

Add a static route to a Smart Access Gateway (SAG) device to direct network traffic to a specific destination.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that you have:

  • An SAG instance with at least one device

  • (SAG-1000 only) A leased line port configured, if you plan to set the VLAN parameter

Add a static route

  1. Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.

  2. Open the Device Management tab using one of the following methods:

    • Click the ID of the target SAG instance. On the instance details page, click the Device Management tab.

    • Find the target SAG instance and choose The More icon > Device Management in the Actions column.

  3. In the left-side navigation tree, click Manage Routes.

  4. In the Static Routes section, click Add Static Route.

  5. In the Add Static Route dialog box, configure the following parameters.

    ParameterDescription
    Destination CIDR blockThe CIDR block of the traffic destination. Example: 192.168.1.0/24.
    Next HopThe IP address of the next hop. Example: 192.168.2.1.
    PortThe port from which the network traffic originates.
    VLANThe VLAN ID. Valid values: 1 to 4094. Default value: 0. This parameter is available only for leased line ports. Only SAG-1000 devices support leased lines.
  6. Click OK.
