Deploy an SAG-1000 device

This guide covers the end-to-end process of deploying a Smart Access Gateway (SAG) SAG-1000 device — from activating the hardware to verifying cloud connectivity.

1000 Process

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Purchased and received an SAG-1000 device. To purchase, see Purchase an SAG device). Devices ship within two business days after the order is placed

  • Access to the SAG console

Step 1: Activate the device and associate it with the SAG instance

Activate the SAG-1000 device and link it to the SAG instance created when you placed the order.

Step 2: Assign port roles (optional)

SAG-1000 lets you assign roles to device ports based on your business requirements. Skip this step if the default port configuration meets your needs.

Step 3: Connect the device to your private network

Physically connect the SAG-1000 to your on-premises network. SAG-1000 supports one-arm mode, which lets you integrate the device without changing your existing network topology.

Step 4: Configure the device in the web console

Log in to the SAG-1000 web console and complete the device configuration.

Step 5: Advertise routes to Alibaba Cloud

Configure routing synchronization between the SAG device and your local terminal.

Step 6: Associate the SAG instance with a network

Connect your SAG instance to Alibaba Cloud using the method that matches your connectivity type:

You can check the connectivity status in the SAG console.
