Manage newly created resources

When you create a resource in the console, specify a resource group to add the resource to.

When you create a resource by calling an API operation, specify a resource group in the request parameters.

Manage existing resources

Use the Automatic Resource Transfer feature to move resources that meet specific conditions to designated resource groups.

• Custom transfer rules: automatically transfer resources based on conditions such as resource names and tags.

• Transfers rule for associated resources: automatically transfer associated resources to the resource groups of their primary resources.

Transfer existing resources between resource groups on the Resource Search page or the Resource Group page of the Resource Management console.

Resource Group and Resource Center provide a global view of resources and support cross-service, cross-region search and transfer. For more information, see Transfer resources between resource groups manually.

Call the API operation that is used to move multiple resources to a resource group at a time to transfer resources. This API operation supports transferring resources across regions, services, and resource groups.
