This topic describes the O&M methods that are supported by Bastionhost and how to use Bastionhost to perform O&M operations on servers. This topic is intended for O&M personnel. Bastionhost supports client-based O&M and web-based O&M. We recommend that you choose a method based on your daily O&M requirements.
You can download the O&M client for the operating system that you use and log on to your bastion host to perform O&M operations on your server.
|Windows client-based O&M|
|macOS client-based O&M|
For more information about common client O&M tools, see Recommended database O&M tools and versions.
|O&M portal-based O&M||You can log on to the O&M portal to perform O&M operations. You must log on to the O&M portal by using the public O&M address of your bastion host. Then, you can view the assets on which you have permissions and perform O&M operations on the assets. You cannot use the private O&M address of your bastion host to log on to the O&M portal. For more information about how to log on to the O&M portal, see Log on to the O&M portal.|
|Host O&M (console-based O&M)||You can perform O&M operations by using the console of your bastion host. You do not need to download an O&M client. You can log on to a server from your browser to perform O&M operations on a web page. To log on to the server, use the host O&M feature in the console of your bastion host.||Use the host O&M feature|
