This topic describes the O&M methods that are supported by Bastionhost and how to use Bastionhost to perform O&M operations on servers. This topic is intended for O&M personnel. Bastionhost supports three O&M methods: client-based O&M, O&M portal-based O&M, and console-based O&M. The O&M portal-based O&M and console-based O&M methods allow you to perform O&M operations on web pages. We recommend that you choose a method based on your daily O&M requirements.

Client-based O&M

You can download the O&M client for the operating system that you use and log on to your bastion host to perform O&M operations on your server.

O&M portal-based O&M

You can perform O&M operations by using the O&M portal. You can log on to the O&M portal by using the public O&M address of your bastion host. Then, you can view the assets on which you have permissions and perform O&M operations on the assets.

Console-based O&M

You can perform O&M operations by using the Bastionhost console. You do not need to download an O&M client. You can log on to a server from your browser to perform O&M operations on a web page. To log on to the server, use the host O&M feature in the Bastionhost console. For more information, see Use the host O&M feature.
