Supported editions

Enterprise Edition and SM Edition

Prerequisites

Before you perform host O&M, make sure that the following requirements are met:

• Your Bastionhost instance runs a supported edition.

• You have a Bastionhost local user account created by an administrator. A RAM user cannot be used. See Manage users.

• An administrator has added the hosts you want to manage to Bastionhost. See Add hosts.

• An administrator has granted your user permissions on the assets and asset accounts you need. See Authorize assets and asset accounts.

Procedure

1. Log on to the Bastionhost O&M portal. See Log on to the O&M portal.

2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Hosts.

3. In the host list, find the host you want to manage. In the Remote Connection column, click Remote Connection.

4. In the Remote Connection dialog box, select a Host Account, then click Web Remote Connection.

5. On the web O&M page that opens, perform O&M on the host.

   Example of file transfer over RDP

   When you perform O&M over RDP, files are transferred using CloudDisk as an intermediary. For example, to upload a file from your local device to the remote host, you first upload the file to CloudDisk and then download it from CloudDisk to the host. To download a file from the remote host to your local device, you first upload the file from the host to CloudDisk and then download it to your local device. The following procedure describes how to download a file from a remote host:

   1. Upload the file to CloudDisk.

      

   2. In the File Transfer panel, click the refresh icon .

      

   3. Select the file that you want to download and click the download icon .
