Bastionhost:Use the host O&M feature

Last Updated:Apr 18, 2025

You can log on to the O&M portal as a local user to view the assets on which you have permissions and perform O&M operations on the assets. You can also click Web Remote Connection in the O&M portal to log on to an asset and perform O&M operations. This topic describes how to log on to the O&M portal of a bastion host to perform O&M operations on the host.

Limits

  • Limits on editions: Only Bastionhost Enterprise Edition and SM Edition support web page-based O&M. For more information about how to purchase and upgrade a bastion host, see Purchase a bastion host and Upgrade a bastion host.

  • Limits on file transfer:

    Note

We recommend that you use the PC client to upload large files.

    • SSH: The maximum size of a file that you can upload is 2 GB.

    • RDP: The maximum size of a file that you can upload is 2 GB. The maximum size of a session file that you can upload is 5 GB. The maximum size of a globally concurrent file that you can upload is 50 GB.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the O&M portal of your bastion host. For more information, see Log on to the O&M portal.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Hosts.

  3. In the host list, find the host that you want to manage and click Remote Connection in the Remote Connection column.

  4. In the Remote Connection dialog box, select a value from Host Account and click Web Remote Connection.

  5. Go to the O&M web page of the host and perform O&M operations.

Example of file transfer over RDP

When you perform RDP-based O&M operations, you must use CloudDisk to transfer files. For example, an uploaded file is stored in CloudDisk. In this case, you must download the file from CloudDisk to your host. If you want to download a file, upload the file from your host to CloudDisk and then download it to your on-premises computer. Download procedure:

    1. Upload a file to CloudDisk.
