Bastionhost O&M administrators can perform O&M operations on hosts on which they are granted permissions by using a client or a web page. This topic describes how O&M administrators perform O&M operations on hosts by using a client or a web page.
Client-based O&M
Client-based O&M refers to the process in which O&M administrators use a local client tool to log on to their bastion host, access a server, and perform O&M operations. Windows and macOS operating systems are supported.
Note If you use Bastionhost
Basic, you cannot perform O&M operations on databases. You can upgrade your bastion host to
Enterprise to perform O&M operations on databases. For more information, see
Upgrade a bastion host.
Web page-based O&M
Web page-based O&M refers to the process in which RAM users perform O&M operations by using the host O&M feature of the console, or local users perform O&M operations by using the O&M portal.
- For more information about how RAM users can perform O&M operations, see Use the host O&M feature.
- For more information about how local users can perform O&M operations, see O&M portal-based O&M.
Note If you use Bastionhost
Basic, you cannot perform web page-based O&M operations. You can upgrade your bastion host to
Enterprise to perform web page-based O&M operations. For more information, see
