    Bastionhost:Upgrade instance specifications

    This topic describes how to upgrade your bastion host instance if its current specifications do not meet your requirements.

    Usage notes

    The upgrade path for bastion host editions is as follows: Basic Edition > Enterprise Edition. Downgrades are not supported.

    • For a Basic Edition bastion host, you can increase the number of assets, bandwidth, and storage capacity. You can also upgrade the instance to Enterprise Edition.

    • For an Enterprise Edition bastion host, you can increase the number of assets, bandwidth, and storage capacity.

    Each edition is suitable for different use cases. For details about the feature differences between editions, see Feature comparison between Bastionhost editions.

    Number of assets

    You can increase the number of supported assets for your instance, up to a maximum of 10,000.

    Bandwidth

    If the default bandwidth does not meet your requirements, you can upgrade the bandwidth of the bastion host instance. The available range is from 0 Mbps to 200 Mbps, in increments of 10 Mbps.

    Storage capacity

    You can increase the storage capacity of the bastion host instance if the default is insufficient. The available range is from 0 TB to 500 TB, in increments of 1 TB.

    Procedure

    This topic uses an upgrade of a Basic Edition bastion host as an example to demonstrate the required steps.

    Warning

    During the upgrade, the instance enters the Upgrading state. The process takes about 20 minutes and causes a service interruption of approximately 1 minute. We recommend performing the upgrade during off-peak hours.

    1. Log on to the Bastionhost console.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Basic Edition & Enterprise Edition.

    3. On the Instances page, find the bastion host you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.

    4. On the bastionhost | Upgrade/Downgrade page, select your desired specifications.

      Important

      A Basic Edition bastion host supports a maximum of 500 assets. If you increase the asset count to more than 500, the instance is automatically upgraded to Enterprise Edition.

    5. Read and accept the Terms of Service, click Calculating, and complete the payment.

      The upgraded bastion host instance retains its original subscription period.
