This topic describes how to upgrade your Bastionhost instance if its current specifications do not meet your requirements.
Usage notes
The upgrade path for Bastionhost editions is as follows: Basic Edition > Enterprise Edition. Downgrades are not supported.
For a Basic Edition Bastionhost instance, you can increase the number of assets, bandwidth, and storage capacity. You can also upgrade the instance to Enterprise Edition.
For an Enterprise Edition Bastionhost instance, you can increase the number of assets, bandwidth, and storage capacity.
Upgradeable items

Bandwidth | If the default bandwidth does not meet your requirements, you can upgrade the bandwidth of the Bastionhost instance. The available range is from 0 Mbps to 200 Mbps, in increments of 10 Mbps. |
Storage capacity | You can increase the storage capacity of the Bastionhost instance if the default is insufficient. The available range is from 0 TB to 500 TB, in increments of 1 TB. |
Procedure
This topic uses an upgrade of a Basic Edition Bastionhost instance as an example to demonstrate the required steps.
During the upgrade, the instance enters the Upgrading state. The process takes about 20 minutes and causes a service interruption of approximately 1 minute. We recommend performing the upgrade during off-peak hours.
Log on to the Bastionhost console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Basic Edition & Enterprise Edition.
On the Instances page, find the Bastionhost instance you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.
On the Bastionhost instance | Upgrade/Downgrade page, select your desired specifications.
ImportantA Basic Edition Bastionhost instance supports a maximum of 500 assets. If you increase the asset count to more than 500, the instance is automatically upgraded to Enterprise Edition.
Read and accept the Terms of Service, click Calculating, and complete the payment.
The upgraded Bastionhost instance retains its original subscription period.
FAQ
Why do bandwidth and storage capacity differ between the instance product page and the upgrade page?
Enterprise Edition Bastionhost instance include complimentary resources by default. The instance product page in the console shows the actual available specifications, including these complimentary resources, whereas the upgrade page shows only the purchased base specifications. This difference is expected. The complimentary resources take effect automatically, and you do not need to take additional actions on the upgrade page.
