This project is from team The Game Changer, which was awarded with the Third Prize in the PolarDB Global Hackathon 2023
YukBisa! is an application that can help you easily find the nearest smart waste bin. With just one click and QR scan, you can dispose of waste such as plastic bottles, glass, cans, and others in the appropriate waste bin, whether it's organic or inorganic. The waste that has been disposed of will generate points that will accumulate according to the amount. You will also receive stickers or characters, just like playing a game, which can be collected and used. The accumulated points can be exchanged for shopping vouchers, games, merchandise, and more.
This application works like playing a game and also has activities like social media. Users can see other people's contributions and follow each other. In the future, this application will be equipped with more complete social media features so that users can spend more time comfortably using the YukBisa application. To support users who want to compete to be the best, we provide a feature of the top 10 best contributions or ranking system with weekly or monthly data, so that others can see and desire that position as well. Additionally, we also give awards in the form of badges to related accounts that successfully achieve goals in collecting more waste.
The problem at the moment is the large number of people who still litter in public places, as well as the lack of facilities and education for them. We aim to focus on building habits and educating the general public, particularly in our beloved Indonesia, to have a concern for the environment, particularly regarding both organic and inorganic waste.
The solution we offer is by providing fun and comfortable education, and getting them used to the concept of playing games and using social media. We also provide facilities to dispose of trash in an easily accessible place, as well as additional benefits in the form of points when they deposit garbage according to its type. The accumulated points can be exchanged for shopping needs, vouchers, and others. Additionally, we also provide badges as awards that can be collected and display their account as the best contributor each week or month so that other users can see and get inspired.
We offer a solution for smart trash cans supported by IoT technology. These trash cans are connected to a server via API and have several advantages, namely the ability to detect the type of trash, count the amount of trash inserted, and weigh the total amount of trash. The trash can be opened in two ways, either by scanning a QR code using an application and receiving benefits in the form of points, or by manually opening it without receiving points. This smart trash bin can be placed like regular public trash bins with a size that is not too large and easy to use. Currently, it is still in the prototype stage, and we hope it can be realized with the support of the government in the future.
I utilize the PolarDB service and other Alibaba Cloud products to enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of the applications I work on. As a cloud database service, I use PolarDB to store user data and activities when using the application, and leverage its multi-region replication feature and automatic load balancing to ensure fast and consistent user experience across regions.
Additionally, I also use other Alibaba Cloud services such as ECS to provide reliable and scalable servers as needed. We also use the Object Storage Service (OSS) from Alibaba Cloud to store and manage object data in my project. With OSS, I can store object data efficiently, at a low cost, and easily manage access to data with features such as access control, encryption, and content delivery through CDN.
The Game Changer is a team composed of five members from three different universities, namely Universitas Indraprasta (Unindra), Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), and Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Terpadu Nurul Fikri (STTNF). Our team's name has a philosophy to become a figure that can bring changes in the field of technology by providing innovative solutions to solve problems faced by society.
