Project Introduction

Online shopping has become increasingly popular in recent years, and with the vast number of e-commerce sites available, customers often struggle to find the best deals. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that prices for the same product can vary widely between different websites. As a result, customers are often forced to spend a significant amount of time searching multiple sites to find the best price. This process can be time-consuming and frustrating, and can result in customers either overpaying or missing out on better deals.

To solve this problem, we developed Comparix, a user-friendly web application that allows customers to quickly and easily compare prices for a specific product across multiple e-commerce websites. Customers will be able to swiftly and easily find the best offers thanks to the application, which will save them time and money while also enhancing their shopping experience.

Solution

Comparix is a web application that allows users to compare the prices of products from different e-commerce websites. It is designed to provide users with an easy way to find the best deals on products by comparing the prices from various online retailers.

We provide the following features:

  1. User sign-up: Users can create an account on the Comparix platform using their email or social media accounts. If a user already has an existing account, they can directly log in to the web application using their login credentials.
  2. Analytics: Users can search for products by entering the product name or category. The application will display a list of products matching the search criteria, or the user can directly tap on a given category bar. This application will also display a list of retailers selling the same product, their respective prices, and the price difference. Users can sort the results by price, retailer rating, or other criteria. Users can also view detailed information about the product, including its features, specifications, and customer reviews.
  3. Comparix Admin: It is an admin panel that allows authorized users to add new product details of different shopping sites. It is designed to simplify the process of adding and updating product information, making it easier to manage and maintain the information on multiple shopping sites.

About the Developer

Ramdas Sahu and Muskan Patel are the two members of our team. Muskan Patel is the team leader. We are both third-year undergrads studying computer science at the Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, INDIA.

The project we created was a full-stack web solution made with PolarDB as the database, React JS as the frontend, Node JS, and Express as the backend. Its purpose was to give users a simple way to find the best deals on products by comparing the prices from different online stores.
