Uniplus, a leading technology startup supported by the Incheon Metropolitan Government, will serve as a channel partner for Alibaba Cloud. In this role, Uniplus will deliver Alibaba Cloud’s technologies and services to local businesses, especially startups, across the Incheon region.

This partnership represents Alibaba Cloud’s first strategic initiative to enhance access to cloud services for enterprises in Korea through a partnership that involves local governments.

As part of the partnership, Alibaba Cloud will collaborate with Uniplus to develop a cloud-based Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform by enhancing Uniplus’s existing blockchain capabilities on Alibaba Cloud infrastructure. The partnership will also expand Uniplus’s blockchain solutions into global markets by leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s worldwide infrastructure, partner ecosystem, and extensive enterprise customer base.

A key component of the partnership will be the provision of next-generation enterprise services that combine cloud and blockchain technologies. These solutions will be made available to a broad range of companies based in Incheon, with the aim of accelerating digital transformation and enhancing regional competitiveness.

Yoon Yong-joon, Country Manager of Alibaba Cloud Korea, said, “This partnership marks a meaningful starting point in building a regional innovation ecosystem. Through our collaboration, we aim to establish a support model that delivers the essential tools and technologies startups need to succeed, while also working with Incheon Metropolitan City to develop localized talent cultivation programs.”

Kim Do-kyum, CEO of Uniplus, said, “We are excited to partner with Alibaba Cloud to help Incheon-based startups strengthen their competitiveness in the global market. By leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s cutting-edge technologies and cost-effective innovation solutions, we will actively support startups in building stronger and more scalable business models.”

Alibaba Cloud entered the Korean market in 2016 and will launch its second data center by the end of June 2025. As the world’s leading and Asia Pacific’s leading Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) service provider, Alibaba Cloud provides highly scalable, robust and secure infrastructure and AI-powered applications to help drive digital transformation for a large variety of industries in Korea.
