Hangzhou, China, January 26, 2026 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, models and solutions, earning recognition from leading global research firms Gartner, Forrester and Omdia in 2025.
Alibaba Cloud believes these acknowledgements underscore how its AI and cloud technology innovation is setting industry standards and resonating with enterprises globally. Its strong position in the market is driven by its full-stack AI solutions, open-source initiatives and AI-optimized cloud infrastructure, positioning it as a trusted partner for organizations accelerating their AI transformation.
Alibaba Cloud has been recognized as a leader in the Omdia Market Radar: Global Enterprise-Level MaaS Market Analysis 2025, published in December 2025. MaaS (Model as a Service) is a service model centered around AI models that delivers capabilities to users through APIs, applications, or integrated solutions. Among the nine core capabilities evaluated, Alibaba Cloud was rated as “advanced” in five areas, namely available foundation model variety, model customization and tuning, AI agent development and scheduling, cost optimization strategy, and production deployment approach.
According to the report, Alibaba Cloud also represents a distinct category in the MaaS landscape: the "Full-Stack AI Service Provider." Unlike pure model vendors or pure infrastructure providers, Alibaba Cloud integrates its proprietary Qwen models vertically with its PAI computing infrastructure and Model Studio application platform, enabling enterprises to develop and deploy AI applications across the full lifecycle.
In November 2025, Alibaba Cloud has again been recognized as an Emerging Leader across all four quadrants evaluated in the four Gartner® “Innovation Guide for Generative AI” reports. The four quadrants covered in the Gartner® “Innovation Guide for Generative AI” reports are: Generative AI Specialized Cloud Infrastructure, Generative AI Model Providers, Generative AI Engineering, and Generative AI Knowledge Management Apps/General Productivity. According to Gartner, the Emerging Market Quadrant provides "a visualization of generative AI vendors" in a "dynamic and fast-moving market,” and “Emerging Leaders typically possess visibility within the market as well as both strong features and future potential”.
In June, Alibaba Cloud has been named a market leader in Omdia’s report “Market Radar: GenAI Cloud Titans in Asia & Oceania 2025.” The report positions Alibaba Cloud in the “Leader” quadrant, highlighting its generative AI capabilities and comprehensive product portfolio across the Asia & Oceania region. Alibaba Cloud is named one of four leaders among nine global vendors evaluated in Omdia’s report, receiving the highest “Advanced” rating in seven out of nine categories. Among the four companies designated as "Leader," Alibaba Cloud received the most "Advanced" ratings.
In addition to its AI leadership, Alibaba Cloud continues to drive innovation in AI infrastructure. Alibaba Cloud has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: AI Infrastructure Solutions, Q4 2025. It is named one of the five leaders among 13 vendors in the Forrester’s report, which evaluates vendors based on their current offering and strategy. Alibaba Cloud received the highest possible score (5.00) in seven out of the 13 criteria in the current offering category, including configuration, data management, management–operations, fault tolerance, efficiency and deployment locale. It also received the highest scores possible in the roadmap and pricing flexibility and transparency criteria within the strategy category.
In August 2025, Alibaba Cloud has been named a Leader in Gartner 2025 Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Native Application Platforms. For Cloud-Native Application Platforms, Alibaba Cloud’s leadership position is attributed to its full-featured modern development environment, which integrates developer productivity, AI, and serverless compute. Its Serverless App Engine (SAE), Function Compute, and Container Compute Service (ACS) enable organizations to rapidly build, deploy, and scale AI-enabled applications with ease.
Alibaba Cloud also been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Serverless Development Platforms, Q2 2025 report. The report assessed 11 vendors over six months, evaluating them across 21 criteria, including developer experience, partner ecosystem, API and event-driven integration, AI application development, and vision. With its Function Compute and Serverless App Engine product capabilities, Alibaba Cloud achieved the highest score possible (5 points) in 9 out of 21 criteria including initialization and deployment, workload flexibility, observability, AI application development, innovation, among others.
Besides overall AI infrastructure, serverless and cloud-native application platforms, Alibaba Cloud has also been named as a Leader in Gartner’s reports on Cloud Database Management and Container Management.
In November 2025, Alibaba Cloud has been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud Database Management Systems (DBMS) for the sixth consecutive year. Alibaba Cloud was recognised for its comprehensive cloud-native capabilities including its serverless support across all proprietary DBMS products as well as the innovative three-layer decoupled compute-memory-storage architecture of PolarDB.
It has also been named a Leader in Gartner 2025 Magic Quadrant for Container Management in August 2025. Alibaba Cloud has a comprehensive container service portfolio, which delivers strategic flexibility across public, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
