Hangzhou, China, July 17, 2025 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has further strengthened its longstanding collaboration with CapitaLand Group (CapitaLand), one of Asia’s largest diversified real estate groups. Alibaba Cloud has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CapitaLand to leverage Alibaba Cloud’s cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI) applications to accelerate CapitaLand’s digital transformation in China, driving commercial excellence and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Building upon the existing partnership established in 2019, this marks a new chapter between the two organizations. The enhanced agreement expands beyond cloud-based digitalization to include a variety of AI applications across multiple levels and business domains.

With Alibaba Cloud’s advanced AI-powered technologies, including its large language model Qwen, CapitaLand will enhance its smart operations and elevate customer service experiences across its diverse online and offline businesses. Additionally, through Alibaba Cloud’s big data platform, CapitaLand will develop an insights-driven system that enables informed business decisions through advanced data analytics, customer profiling, precision marketing, and risk management. CapitaLand will also integrate Alibaba Cloud’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) solutions to create a green, low-carbon real estate ecosystem.

Puah Tze Shyang, CEO of CapitaLand Investment (China), who represented CapitaLand at the signing ceremony, said, “As a leading diversified real estate group with a strong focus on innovation, CapitaLand has continuously integrated technologies to drive business growth since 2015. We believe that through deeper cooperation with Alibaba will elevate our collaboration to a new level.”

“We are excited to deepen our collaboration with CapitaLand as we continue to explore innovative ways to integrate digital technology with physical spaces. This renewed collaboration underscores our shared commitment to fostering innovation and building a seamless online and offline ecosystem that is more connected, efficient, and customer centric.” said Jessie Zheng, Chief Strategy Officer of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.

Alibaba Cloud and CapitaLand began their collaboration in China in 2015. Since formalizing their strategic partnership in 2019, they have achieved significant results by focusing on cloud services and the development of a data platform. By migrating its enterprise systems to Alibaba Cloud, CapitaLand eliminated the need for local server deployments, substantially reducing its IT infrastructure costs in China.

Launched in 2020, CapitaLand’s data platform provides end-to-end data support for key business areas such as finance, asset management, leasing and membership operations. It serves as a central hub for data sharing and collaboration across departments and systems, offering a strong foundation for CapitaLand’s digital transformation and business innovation.

The expansion of Alibaba Cloud and CapitaLand’s collaboration underscores their commitment to jointly advancing the application of technological innovation in the real estate sector. By deepening the collaboration, the two organizations aim to establish a model that leverages their complementary strengths and fosters coordinated development between digital and real economies.

As one of the major cloud providers for CapitaLand, Alibaba Cloud’s technologies and services power many of CapitaLand’s properties in China and facilities management capabilities. With 89 availability zones in 29 regions globally, Alibaba Cloud established its international headquarters in Singapore in 2015. As the Asia Pacific’s leading IaaS service provider, Alibaba Cloud provides highly scalable, robust and secure infrastructure and AI-powered applications to help drive digital transformation for a large variety of industries.
