This topic is for new users and users who prefer a graphical user interface (GUI). It explains how to use the Short Message Service (SMS) console to send messages to more than 200 countries and regions without writing any code. This enables non-technical users to send SMS messages efficiently.
Preparations
Before you begin, complete the following preparations:
Create an account: If you do not have an Alibaba Cloud account, create an account first.
Complete enterprise identity verification: The message delivery rate for personal accounts can be low. Upgrade to an enterprise account for better performance. For more information, see Enterprise identity verification.
Activate SMS: Log on to the SMS console and follow the prompts to activate the service.
Purchase a resource plan: By default, SMS uses a prepaid resource plan billing model. Purchase a resource plan before you proceed.
Ensure that a credit card or PayPal account is attached to your Alibaba Cloud account.
Purchase a suitable resource plan based on the message destination and the Resource plans documentation. To use the pay-as-you-go billing method, contact sales for configuration.
Carrier and compliance requirements vary by country and region. Before you send messages, complete the required compliance procedures for your destinations:
To send messages to Go China, first create an SMS signature and create an SMS template. You can use them only after they are approved.
To send messages to Go Globe, check if the destination requires sender ID registration. For more information about the check and registration process, see Sender ID registration process.
Send a test message using the Quick Start feature
Use this method to quickly try the service or test your message content.
Log on to the SMS console. In the navigation pane on the left, click Quick Start.
Enter the Mobile Phone Number. You can look up the country or region code in Dialing codes.
The system automatically determines whether the destination is in the Chinese mainland or in an international region based on the country code.
For messages to Go China: Select an approved signature and SMS template. If the template contains variables, enter the variable values.
For messages to Go Globe: Fill in the SenderID and Message fields.
Click Send.
Send messages using the batch sending feature
Shipping to international regions and Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), and Taiwan (China)
Log on to the SMS console. In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Mass Messaging page, click Create Campaign.
Fill in the task information as described in the following table:

Campaign Name
The name of the campaign. It can be up to 30 characters.
Sender ID
The sender ID supports letters and digits. An alphanumeric ID can be up to 11 characters, while a numeric-only ID can have up to 15 digits. Use your application, website, or company name to build brand awareness. For more information, see Register a sender ID.
Content
You can use variables in your message. The variable format is
${name}. Example: Your verification code is${code}. This code is valid for 5 minutes. Do not share it with others.Mobile Phone Numbers
You can add recipient numbers by either importing a file or entering them manually.
Import Data
Download a template and fill in the recipient numbers.
Click Import Mobile Phone Numbers.
Manual Input (Variables Unsupported)
Enter the recipient numbers.
NoteTo include variables in your message template, add by importing a file.
Manual input supports entering up to 100 recipient numbers. For larger batches, import a file.
Schedule Campaign
Enable Schedule Campaign to specify the time zone, date, and time for sending the message.
NoteTo cancel a scheduled campaign, return to the Mass Messaging page and click Cancel in the Actions column at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time.
If you have set a sending schedule, click Submit Campaign. Otherwise, click Schedule Campaign.
Sending to Mainland China
Due to policy restrictions, the feature of sending messages to Go China is not available for new users. For existing accounts that have this feature enabled, your SMS signatures must undergo identity verification. Unverified signatures may be forcibly unpublished, which causes service disruptions. The requirements and procedures for identity verification have been sent to your Alibaba Cloud internal messages and the mailbox associated with your Alibaba Cloud account. To ensure normal business operations, complete the signature identity verification promptly.
Log on to the SMS console. In the left navigation pane, choose Go China.
On the Go China page, click the Broadcast tab.
Click Create Campaign.
Fill in the campaign information as prompted on the page.

The name of the campaign. It can be up to 30 characters.

Select a signature for the message.
Template
Select a message type and template.

You can add recipient numbers by either importing a file or entering them manually.

Query sending details
Query task execution results
Log on to the SMS console.
To query the details of messages sent to Go Globe, in the left navigation pane, choose .
To query the details of messages sent to Go China, in the left navigation pane, choose .
On the Mass Messaging page, locate the sending task that you created and click View Details in the Actions column.
View the SMS message details, including Received At and Result.
Check delivery reports
In the SMS console, choose .
You can filter records by various conditions. Click Advanced Search to view all available filters:
Basic search: Filter by send date, time zone, mobile phone numbers, sender ID, and destination country/region.
Advanced search: Filter by Message Content, Carrier MCC & MNC, Delivery Status, Status Code, and Billed Messages.
NoteDefault time zone: UTC+8.
Available data range: Data from the past 180 days.
