Use Quick Start in the Short Message Service (SMS) console to send a test message to a phone number and verify that your signature, template, and configuration work before sending to real recipients.
Before you begin
Before sending a test message, complete the following:
Activate SMS: Log in to the SMS console and follow the prompts to activate the service.
Purchase a resource package: Test messages consume credits from your prepaid resource package. Purchase a resource package if you have not done so.
For the Chinese mainland (Go China): Create an SMS signature and get it approved. Then create a message template and wait for approval before proceeding.
For regions outside the Chinese mainland (Go Globe): Check whether the destination country or region requires sender ID registration.
Send a test message
Log in to the SMS console. In the left navigation pane, choose Quick Start.
In the Mobile Phone Number field, enter the destination phone number with the country dialing code. For example, enter
+861381234xxxxfor a Chinese mainland number or+14155552671for a US number. See Dialing codes for a full list.Fill in the remaining fields based on your destination:
For the Chinese mainland: Select your approved Signature and Message Template. If the template contains variables, enter a value for each variable.
For regions outside the Chinese mainland: Enter your SenderID and compose the Message content.
Click Send.
Check your phone for the test message. Delivery typically takes a few seconds, though it may take longer depending on the carrier and destination region.
View sending results
After sending, verify delivery in the console:
Log in to the SMS console.
Navigate to the sending records for your route:
Go Globe: In the left navigation pane, choose Go Globe > SMS Campaign.
Go China: In the left navigation pane, click Go China, then click the Broadcast tab.
Locate your message and click View Details in the Actions column to see the delivery status, reception time, and result.
