Attach a network instance

Smart Access Gateway (SAG) supports connecting to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit, the internet, or both. To connect over an Express Connect circuit, you must attach a virtual border router (VBR) instance. To connect over the internet, you must attach a Cloud Connect Network (CCN) instance.

Prerequisites

To connect to Alibaba Cloud over the internet, create a Cloud Connect Network instance. For more information, see Create a CCN instance.
To connect to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit, create an Express Connect circuit and a virtual border router instance. For more information, see What is Express Connect?.

Procedure

Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
In the top navigation bar, select the target region.
On the Smart Access Gateway page, go to the Network Configuration page by using one of the following methods.
- Click the ID of the target SAG instance. On the instance details page, click the Network Configuration tab.
- In the Operation column of the target SAG instance, click Network Configuration.
On the instance details page, click the Network Instance Details tab. In the Associated Instances Under Current Account section, click Attach Network.

In the Attach Network dialog box, configure the parameters, and then click OK.

Parameter	Description
Network Type	The type of network instance to attach. Valid values: CCN: connects to Alibaba Cloud over the internet. Virtual Border Router: connects to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit.
Resource Group	The resource group to which the CCN instance belongs. Note This parameter is required only when Network Type is set to CCN.
Region	The region where the VBR is deployed. Note This parameter is required only when Network Type is set to Virtual Border Router.
Network Instance	The network instance to attach.
