By default, the internal and external sharing features of Cloud Drive for Enterprises (CDE) are disabled to ensure the security of resource access. If you want to allow users to share personal or team resources, you can enable internal and external sharing.
Usage notes
Only a super administrator and drive administrator can enable internal and external sharing.
Differences between external sharing and internal sharing/authorization
To meet the requirements of users in an enterprise to share resources within the organization or across organizations, CDE provides two types of sharing: external sharing and internal sharing/authorization. The following table describes the details.
Feature | Description | Applicable scope |
Allows users to share resources in personal or team spaces. | Sharing with external users across organizations is supported. | |
Allows users to share resources in personal spaces and administrators to manage authorization for resources in team spaces. | Sharing with teams or colleagues within the organization is supported. |
Enable external sharing
By default, up to 500 shares can be created and up to 500 accesses to shares are allowed on a single day. If you do not select the option that allows accesses by only internal users when you create a share, downloading of APK and IPA files in the share (if any) is forbidden. To remove these limits, configure a custom domain name. For more information, see Configure custom domain names. (From UTC+8 10:00:00 on February 24, 2025, downloading of APK and IPA files in newly created externally-faced share links is forbidden).
Log on to CDE and go to the admin console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Security Policy > Sharing Links Management.
On the page that appears, turn on Enable Share Link.
Enable internal sharing/authorization
Log on to CDE and go to the admin console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Security Policy > Share Settings.
On the page that appears, turn on Enable Share/Authorization Settings.
