By purchasing a physical port through classic mode, you can select the required dedicated connection access point resources from a drop-down list. This mode allows users to directly choose the appropriate access point from the list, suitable for users with specific network access point requirements. This topic describes how to apply for a physical port using classic mode.
Prerequisites
You have already enabled billing for outbound traffic.
Procedure
Step 1: Apply for a classic mode physical port
Log on to the Express Connect management console, click Create Physical Connection port, and select Classic Mode to apply for a port.
Configuration
Description
Region
The region where the Alibaba Cloud resources are accessed.
Express Connect Circuit Provider
The carrier that provides the Express Connect circuit service. Different carriers offer different access points.
NoteChina Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile can only use their own Express Connect circuits. They are not allowed to use Express Connect circuits provided by other carriers and do not support bare optical fiber access.
Access Point
Select the access point closest to your IDC. For information about selecting the nearest access point, see Alibaba Cloud access points.
Cloud Box Name
Select a CloudBox device cluster. To purchase an Express Connect circuit for CloudBox, contact your account manager to apply for the required permissions.
Port Type
You can select 100GE Single-mode Optical Port, 40GE Single-mode Optical Port, GE Single-mode Optical Port, and 10GE Single-mode Optical Port types.
Advanced Configurations
Click Advanced Configuration to support selecting VBR Throttling, IPv6, BFD, MPBGP, MPBGP-v6, Qos, and VBR-HA capabilities.
If the backend resources of the advanced capabilities you selected do not have corresponding advanced capability ports, the creation will fail.
Resource Group
Select an existing resource group to achieve grouped management of physical ports.
Tag Key
Select existing tag keys and tag values, or enter new tag keys and tag values. By binding specific tags to physical port instances, you can manage instances by classification.
Tag Value
Select the billing rules and click Confirm.
NoteAfter the physical Express Connect circuit construction is completed and the payment is successful, the Port Status of the physical Express Connect circuit port is UP. Before payment, the Port Status is Down.
Step 2: Apply for physical leased line construction
Alibaba Cloud supports reapplying for LOA. When applying, repeat the operations in Step 2: Apply for Physical Leased Line Construction to apply.
On the Physical Port page, find the target port instance and click Apply for LOA.
In the Apply For LOA (Leased Line Construction Authorization Letter) panel, enter the following information and click Confirm.

Description
Company Name
For a corporate account, enter the company name specified when the Alibaba Cloud account is created.
For a personal account, enter the name of the Alibaba Cloud account owner.
Construction Unit Entering Alibaba Data Center
The unit name of the construction carrier, generally referring to the leased line carrier or IDC carrier.
Leased Line Type
Supports selecting MSTP, MPLSVPN, Optical Fiber Direct Connection, or Other leased line types.
Planned Construction Time
The entry time of the leased line construction unit.
Customer IDC Address
The specific address of the user's IDC.
Physical Leased Line Bandwidth Value
Please enter your physical leased line contract bandwidth value.
NoteThe bandwidth value here is only for reference in Alibaba Cloud service configuration. Your actual cost and bandwidth cap are subject to the contract you signed with the carrier. Please fill in truthfully according to the contract bandwidth.
Add Field Engineer
Click Add Field Engineer to add the information of the personnel who need to enter the Alibaba Cloud data center for construction. You can add one or more field engineers.
ImportantThe information about the field engineers is required.
After applying for LOA, the instance LOA Status is LOA Applying. After the Alibaba Cloud review personnel approve it, the LOA Status is updated to LOA Approved.
NoteAccess points within China are reviewed within 2 business days, and access points outside China are reviewed within 3 business days.
Receive text message notifications and follow the steps below:
NoteIf the access point you applied for is a third-party data center access point, Hong Kong, or international data center access point, you can skip this step.
Obtain the entry certificate: Click the entry certificate link in the text message, log on to the entry application platform. Check the data center information and click Confirm Visit, then click Entry Certificate to obtain the entry QR code.
Complete personal information:
Copy the link in the text message to a computer browser to access the link, read and agree to the privacy protection statement and Alibaba Cloud data center entry agreement.
Fill in personal information and click Submit Information. When the page displays Submission Successful, you can close the browser window.
Step 3: Implement leased line construction and pay resource occupancy fee
Implement Physical Leased Line Construction
On the Physical Port page, find the target instance, view and download the LOA file.
According to the LOA information, contact the leased line construction party to connect the leased line to the equipment outside the Alibaba Cloud data center compartment according to the engineering survey plan.
NoteData centers within China: Alibaba Cloud engineers assist the leased line construction party in completing the leased line connection to the Alibaba Cloud data center compartment.
Data centers outside China: The leased line construction party completes the leased line connection to the access equipment (ODF or Patch Panel, etc.) outside the Alibaba Cloud data center compartment.
The process of entering the data center compartment is as follows:
Third-party data center access point: Deliver the LOA file to the on-site engineer at least one day in advance.
Hong Kong and international region data center access point: Contact the on-site engineer.
Other data center access points: Present the entry QR code obtained in Step 2 and enter the data center by scanning the QR code.
After completing the construction, obtain the leased line test report from the construction party and contact the carrier personnel to obtain the carrier leased line ID, in-building cable label, or patch panel port information.
Alibaba Cloud Fiber Pigtail Construction
On the Physical Port page, find the target instance, click Completion Report, enter the obtained line information, and click Confirm. The instance status changes to Alibaba Cloud Fiber Pigtail Construction.
Alibaba Cloud on-site engineers will insert the leased line into the specified leased line port in the Alibaba Cloud data center. After successful access, the instance status changes to Pay Resource Occupancy Fee.
NoteAccess points within China complete fiber pigtail laying and leased line port access within 2 business days, and access points outside China complete within 3 business days.
Pay Resource Occupancy Fee
On the Physical Port page, find the target instance, and click Pay Resource Occupancy Fee.
Select the subscription duration and renewal method, and click Buy Now to complete the payment. When the instance status is Active, the physical leased line is successfully enabled.
