To prevent service disruptions for Express Connect, you must renew your prepaid instances before they expire. We recommend that you enable auto-renewal to avoid service suspensions due to overdue payments and prevent business disruptions.

Background information
You can renew instances using one of three modes: manual renewal, auto-renewal, or non-renewal. Each is suited for a different scenario:

For active instances with no overdue payments, you can choose manual renewal or enable auto-renewal.

For instances with overdue payments, you can only use manual renewal. After the instance returns to a normal state, you can enable auto-renewal.
-
If you do not plan to continue using an instance after it expires, set it to non-renewal.
Dedicated circuit renewal
On the Renewal Management page, choose a renewal mode to renew your dedicated Express Connect circuit instances.

Log on to the Express Connect console.

Navigate to the instance's renewal page in one of the following ways:

From the instance list

In the top navigation bar, select the target region.

On the Physical Port page, find the target instance and click Auto Renew in the Actions column.

On the Renewal page, click the Manual Renewal, Auto Renew, or Nonrenewal tab based on the renewal mode of the instance.

From Billing Management

In the top navigation bar, choose .

On the Renewal page, in the Instance section, select Express Connect - Resource Usage Fee (Prepaid).

Click the Manual Renewal, Auto Renew, or Nonrenewal tab based on the renewal mode of the instance.

Renew the dedicated Express Connect circuit by using one of the following methods.

Manual renewal
NoteTo renew multiple instances at once, select the instances that you want to renew, click Batch Renew, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

On the Renewal page, find the target instance and click Renew in the Actions column.

On the renewal page, select a subscription duration, then read and agree to the terms of service.

Click Buy Now and complete the payment.

Auto-renewal

On the Renewal page, find the target instance and click Enable Auto Renewal in the Actions column.

In the Enable Auto Renewal dialog box, select a renewal cycle and click Enable Auto Renewal.
After auto-renewal is enabled, you can view the renewal order on the Auto Renew tab.
NoteIf your instance expires tomorrow, it will not be automatically renewed. Renew it manually.
After you enable auto-renewal, Alibaba Cloud starts to deduct fees nine days before the expiration date. Make sure that your account balance is sufficient.

Non-renewal: If you set an instance to non-renewal, the instance is suspended upon expiration and you will receive only one reminder before the suspension. You can change this setting at any time before the instance expires.

On the Renewal page, find the target instance and click Nonrenewal in the Actions column.

In the Nonrenewal dialog box, click Confirm.
After the setting is changed, you can view the non-renewal order on the Nonrenewal tab.

Shared circuit renewal
To renew a shared Express Connect circuit, log on to the Express Connect console with the tenant's Alibaba Cloud account.
On the Renewal Management page, you can choose a renewal mode and renew your shared Express Connect circuit instances as needed.

Shared port renewal

If you are logged on with a tenant account and the tenant is the payer, you can directly renew the port in the console. If the Express Connect partner is the payer, you must contact your partner to perform the renewal.

If you are logged on with an Express Connect partner account and the partner is the payer, you can directly renew the port in the console.

Log on to the Express Connect console.

Navigate to the instance's renewal page in one of the following ways:

On the Physical Port page, click the ID of the target dedicated Express Connect circuit instance.

Find the target shared port instance and click Renew in the Actions column.

VBR instance renewal
On the Renewal Management page, you can choose a renewal mode and renew your VBR instances as needed.
If you have not enabled billing for outbound data transfer, you must renew your VBR instance before it expires. If you have enabled billing for outbound data transfer, Alibaba Cloud no longer charges you a VBR instance fee.

Navigate to the instance's renewal page in one of the following ways:

In the top navigation bar, select the target region.

On the Physical Port page, find the target Express Connect circuit instance and click its ID.

On the details page of the physical connection, click the VBR tab. Then, find the target VBR instance and in the Actions column, choose .

Re-subscription
You can renew an instance set for non-renewal anytime before it expires.
