Express Connect:Port resource usage fee

Last Updated:Jan 09, 2026

When you purchase a dedicated or shared Express Connect circuit, you are charged a port resource usage fee for the port that you select. The fee varies based on the port specification and port type.

Billing rules

Port resource usage fees are subscription-based and charged monthly. The following table describes the billing rules.

Billing cycle and bill generation time

Monthly

The billing cycle for the port resource usage fee is based on your subscription duration in the UTC+8 time zone. A billing cycle starts at the time the resource is activated or renewed, accurate to the second, and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.

Bills are typically generated on the first day of the calendar month after the current billing cycle ends. The actual bill generation time is subject to what is displayed in the system.

Billing cycle example: Assume that you create a shared or dedicated port instance at 13:00:00 on August 09, 2022 with a subscription duration of one month. You manually renew the instance for one month before it expires.

  • First billing cycle: 13:00:00 on August 09, 2022 to 00:00:00 on September 10, 2022.

  • Second billing cycle: 00:00:00 on September 10, 2022 to 00:00:00 on October 10, 2022.

Billing formula

The total port resource usage fee for an Alibaba Cloud account is the sum of the port resource usage fees for each region. The port resource usage fee for a region is calculated using the following formula:

Port resource usage fee = Sum of the unit prices of all port resource usage fees in the current region (USD/month) × Subscription duration (months)

Billing example

Assume that at 13:00:00 on August 9, 2022, you create a 10 Gbps dedicated port and a 2 Gbps shared port in the China (Beijing) region. The subscription duration is one month, and you manually renew them for another month before they expire. The port resource usage fee for the China (Beijing) region is calculated as follows:

Port resource usage fee: (USD 720 + USD 150)/month × 2 months = USD 1,740.
