Express Connect:Port resource usage fee

Last Updated:May 26, 2026

A port resource usage fee applies when you purchase a dedicated or shared port for a physical connection. The fee varies based on the port specification and port type.

Billing rules

The port resource usage fee is charged on a monthly subscription basis. The following table describes the billing rules.

Billing cycle and statement generation

Monthly

A billing cycle is based on your subscription duration in the UTC+8 time zone. It begins when a resource is activated or renewed and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.

Your bill is typically generated on the first day of the calendar month after a billing cycle ends. The actual generation time is displayed in the console.

Example: Assume that you create a shared or dedicated port instance at 13:00:00 on August 9, 2022, with a one-month subscription. You then manually renew the subscription for another month before it expires.

  • First billing cycle: 13:00:00, August 9, 2022 to 00:00:00, September 10, 2022.

  • Second billing cycle: 00:00:00, September 10, 2022 to 00:00:00, October 10, 2022.

Billing formula

The port resource usage fee is the sum of fees for all ports under your Alibaba Cloud account across all regions. The formula for calculating the fee in a single region is:

Port resource usage fee = Sum of the unit prices for all ports in the current region (USD/month) × Subscription duration (in months)

Billing example

Assume that you create a 10 Gbps dedicated port and a 2 Gbps shared port in the China (Beijing) region at 13:00:00 on August 9, 2022, with a subscription duration of 1 month. You then manually renew them for another month before they expire. The port resource usage fee in the China (Beijing) region is calculated as follows:

Port resource usage fee: (USD 720 + USD 150)/month × 2 months = USD 1,740.
