Alongside its core data development and scheduling capabilities, DataWorks offers a range of pay-as-you-go features, allowing you to pay only for the resources you use. This document outlines the billing rules and pricing for these features to help you manage your costs. These charges are included in your total DataWorks bill, alongside software edition subscription fees and resource group (CU) fees.

Note

For details about DataWorks billable items, see the billing overview.

Public network traffic billing

When charges are incurred

Public network traffic fees apply when tasks run using a DataWorks data source that is configured with a public IP address. Go to Operation Center > Operations Dashboard. On the Data Integration tab, in the Synchronization Task Execution Details area, filter by Has Public Network Traffic to identify the tasks that generate these fees. Test runs of these tasks in Data Development also generate public network traffic.

Important

Public network traffic fees apply only when you use an exclusive resource group for integration. If you use a Serverless resource group, the billing rules of other cloud services determine the charges for any public network traffic they generate during data transfer.

Pricing

  • Billing cycle: hourly.

  • Billing granularity: per GB of traffic.

  • Pricing details: USD 0.12 per GB.

Billing for intelligent baseline instances

Billing scenarios

The intelligent baseline is a monitoring and analysis system for DataWorks task runs. It analyzes task run statuses against monitoring rules to determine if, when, how, and to whom to send an alert. Intelligent baselines that are Enabled generate baseline instances, which incur charges. You can go to Operation Center > intelligent baseline to view the number of enabled intelligent baselines.

This feature is available only in DataWorks Standard Edition and higher.

Pricing

  • Billing cycle: Daily.

  • Billing granularity: Number of baseline instances per day.

  • Free quota: You receive a free quota of two baseline instances per day.

  • Pricing details:

Billing for alert messages and calls

When charges are incurred

The alert service for intelligent monitoring lets you send alert messages and make alert calls for a fee. Alert calls are supported only for mobile numbers in the Chinese mainland. Charges also apply to alert messages and calls generated by real-time synchronization task monitoring and data quality.

This feature is available only in DataWorks Standard Edition and higher.

Billing standards

  • Billing cycle: Daily.

  • Billing granularity: Alert messages are billed per message per day, and alert calls are billed per call per day.

  • Free quota: Each DataWorks edition includes a monthly free quota for alert messages and alert calls.

    Note

Usage is checked daily against the monthly free quota. Once this quota is exhausted, you are charged for any subsequent usage.

    Important
    • If you change your DataWorks edition during a calendar month, your free quota is adjusted to match the new edition. Charges incurred before the change are non-refundable.

    • If your usage for the month already exceeds the free quota of the new edition, you will have no free quota left for that month.

Billing for data quality instances

When charges are incurred

The data quality feature provides an end-to-end data quality solution with capabilities such as data profiling, data comparison, quality monitoring, SQL scanning, and smart alerts. You are billed based on the number of successful data quality rule instances triggered by a task instance. This includes all successful rule instances from scheduled, backfill, and dry run instances.

For example, if you configure a table with two partition expressions and create two data quality check rules for each expression, a single successful run of the associated scheduled task generates four billable data quality instances.

Billing

  • Billing cycle: Daily.

  • Billing granularity: Number of successful instances per day.

  • Free quota: DataWorks provides a free quota of 10 successful instances per day.

    Important

Running more than 1,280,000 instances per day exceeds the service threshold and may cause scheduling failures. If your workload exceeds this threshold, please submit a ticket for assistance.

OpenAPI billing

Important
  • To use the OpenAPI capabilities of a feature, you must purchase the feature. For example, to use the OpenAPI for data modeling, you must also have the data modeling module enabled.

  • The daily call limits and monthly free quotas for OpenAPI vary by edition (for details, see Use OpenAPI). The Basic Edition has a daily call limit. The Standard Edition, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition do not have a daily call limit. After the monthly free quota is used up, users of the Standard, Professional, and Enterprise editions can continue to make calls on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Billing scenarios

DataWorks provides OpenAPI capabilities for multiple modules, including tenant, metadata, Data Development, Operation Center, and Data Integration. You are charged for each successful API call.

Billing standards

  • Billing cycle: Daily.

  • Billing granularity: Successful calls per day.

  • Free quota: DataWorks provides a different monthly free quota for each edition.

    Note

The free quota is calculated on a calendar month basis. After the monthly free quota is exhausted, successful calls that exceed the quota are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis for Standard Edition, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition. For the Basic Edition, you cannot make additional calls after the quota is exhausted.

  • Pricing details:

    Important

DataWorks Standard Edition, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition support pay-as-you-go billing for calls that exceed the monthly free quota. The Basic Edition is limited to its free quota and its daily call limit. If you exceed either limit, you cannot continue to make calls.
