This topic describes how to view detailed bills for each billable item in DataWorks.
Read DataWorks billing overview first to understand the overall billing logic.
Usage notes
-
The Alibaba Cloud billing system aggregates bill data by region. You cannot view or analyze costs for a single DataWorks workspace or an individual user.
-
If you have not used a workspace for a long time, charges may still be incurred. For more information, see Appendix: Reasons why an inactive workspace may incur charges.
Purchased resources and services
Go to the Purchased Resources and Services page to view the DataWorks services that are activated in each region.
The Purchased Resources and Services page has pay-as-you-go and subscription sections at the top, where you can manage resources with buttons like New Purchase and Top-up. In the middle, you can switch between the Subscription - Features, Subscription - Resources, and pay-as-you-go tabs. You can also click Activate New Region to activate services in a new region. The table at the bottom displays order information such as commodity type, primary specifications, activation region, status, days until expiration, order time, and order instance ID. The Actions column provides options such as Renew, Upgrade, and Downgrade.

Bill details
DataWorks provides two billing methods: pay-as-you-go and subscription.
|
Category |
Description |
|
Pay-as-you-go (postpaid) |
In each region, pay-as-you-go billable items, such as the number of data quality check instances, are billed collectively by category. Billing at the workspace level is not supported. |
|
Subscription (prepaid) |
In each region, subscription services are billed based on the number of purchased subscription instances. Each subscription instance is a separate billable item in the billing system.
|
The following table describes the bill details.
|

Appendix: Charges for inactive workspaces
DataWorks provides pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods. If you have not used a workspace for a long time, the following scenarios may incur charges:
-
pay-as-you-go: If you have not purchased a subscription service but scheduled tasks exist in the workspace, charges may be incurred. For example, task scheduling generates charges for scheduled instances in the public resource group, and using baselines generates baseline instance fees. If you do not plan to use the workspace for a period of time, you can disable it. On the Workspace List page, click the More icon in the Actions column for the target workspace, and select Disable Workspace.
NoteAfter you disable a workspace, scheduled tasks no longer generate scheduled instances. However, the compute engine resources still exist and may incur engine storage-related charges. These charges are collected by the engine and are not reflected in DataWorks bills. For engine billing details, refer to the respective engine's documentation.
-
subscription: If you have purchased a subscription service and enabled auto-renewal, subscription fees are incurred. Verify that auto-renewal is disabled. For more information, see Billing deactivation instructions.
