Permission description
Super administrators, operations administrators, and custom global roles with the Listing Management - Manage permission can create, list, and manage prospective assets.
Operations personnel for business systems and maintenance personnel with asset maintenance permissions can manage assets within the business systems for which they are responsible.
Operation instructions
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin home page, choose Asset > Catalog Management.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Manual Listing > the desired asset type to go to the Pending page.
The prospective assets list displays assets that are collected from specified data sources through collection adapters or obtained from the data mid-end. The list includes information such as asset name, metric type, associated technical metrics, asset source, catalog, latest status, information completeness, whether the asset was previously listed, asset import time, latest data timestamp, and last update time.
Asset Source: The source of the asset object. The source for assets from the Dataphin data mid-end is Dataphin, which contains only logical tables. The source for API assets is a DataService Studio project. The source for Quick BI dashboards is a Quick BI workspace.
Status: For assets with a status of Listing Failed, you can hover over the
icon next to the status to view the reason for the failure. After you make the necessary changes, you can list the asset again.Completeness: Indicates whether the required attributes of the asset are complete and valid.
Previously Listed: Indicates whether the asset was delisted and then listed again.
(Optional) You can filter assets by metric type, asset source, BI workspace or directory, latest status, catalog, information completeness, whether the asset was previously listed, asset import time, latest data timestamp, or last update time. You can also search for assets that match specific criteria.
In the Actions column of the target asset, you can perform the following operations. The available operations are the same for different asset types. This topic uses a table asset as an example. You can select up to 10,000 assets for a single batch operation.
Operation
Description
Edit
Modify the basic information and usage instructions of the asset, and configure the visibility permissions. For more information, see Edit asset information.
List
Click List, or select one or more assets and click List at the bottom, to list the assets in the asset catalog. If an approval rule is configured for an asset, the listing request must be approved. The approval comments cannot exceed 100 characters. After the request is approved, the asset is listed in the asset catalog. If no approval rule is configured for an asset, it can be listed directly.
NoteOnly assets with all required information configured can be listed.
After a table asset is listed, the custom metric assets under the table can be listed.
Only users and roles with asset maintenance permissions can list assets.
Only prospective assets with a status of Unlisted or Listing Failed can be listed.
The names of listed business metrics must be unique within the tenant.
Unlisted
Click Private and enter a reason to change the asset status to Private. Private assets are not displayed in the asset catalog.
To edit a private asset, first change its status to prospective.
NoteMaking a table asset private also applies to its custom metrics, but skips metrics for which you do not have maintenance permissions. When you list a custom metric, if its parent table is private, you must change the table asset's status to prospective before you can list the metric asset.
Set Maintenance Permissions
This operation is not supported for business metrics.
Single operation: Click Set maintenance permissions to configure the maintenance personnel for the asset. They are responsible for daily maintenance, including modifying information and managing listing status.
Batch operation: Click Set maintenance permissions at the bottom to add or modify maintenance personnel in batches.
Modify: Replaces the maintenance personnel of the selected assets with the personnel specified in this operation.
Append: Keeps the existing maintenance personnel of the selected assets and adds the personnel specified in this operation.
View Change Records
Displays the change records of a single asset for the last 30 days, including attribute and status changes, for traceability.
NoteFor custom metrics, changes to the statistic granularity correspond to changes in fields defined as dimensions in the parent table. These changes take effect when the table is listed.
Delete
This operation is supported only for business metrics. When the status of a business metric is Unlisted, Private Failed, or Listing Failed, you can delete the business metric. This also removes the associations between the business metric and any related technical metrics.
Modify Attributes
After selecting assets, click Modify attributes at the bottom to modify the attributes of the assets on the batch modification page.
Compared to editing a single asset, some attributes support more flexible configuration.
Add all required attributes: Click to quickly add all attributes that must be configured before the current asset type can be listed.
Table display name/Description: Supports referencing DDL comments and custom settings. You can choose to apply this setting only to assets with an empty display name. If you do not select this option, the configured display names of the selected tables are overwritten.
Reference DDL Comment: Uses the table's comment as the asset's display name or description. The display name or description is automatically updated when the DDL comment changes.
Custom: Lets you select Table/Column Name or DDL Comment as the asset's display name. You can also select DDL Comment as the asset's description or set the description to Empty.
Field display name/Description: Supports referencing DDL comments and custom settings. You can choose to apply this setting only to assets with an empty display name. If you do not select this option, the configured display names of the selected fields are overwritten.
Reference DDL Comment: If you select Apply only to assets with an empty display name, this setting takes effect for all fields in the current table that have an empty display name or description. It uses the data field's comment as the asset's display name or description. The display name or description is automatically updated when the DDL comment changes.
Custom: If you select Apply only to assets with an empty display name, this setting takes effect for a single field in the current table that has an empty display name or description. Lets you select Column Name or DDL Comment as the asset's display name. You can also select DDL Comment as the asset's description or set the description to Empty.
NoteThe display name and description of fields must be uniformly configured for all fields in the table. You can either reference DDL comments or use custom settings for all fields.
If you change the setting for the field display name or description from Reference DDL comment to Custom and select Apply only to assets with an empty display name, the setting takes effect only if the DDL comments for all fields in the current table are empty.
If you change the setting for the field display name or description from Custom to Custom and select Apply only to assets with an empty display name, the setting takes effect if any single field in the current table is empty.
Catalog/Asset tags/Related business metrics: Supports appending updates to existing configurations, or modifying existing configurations according to the latest current configuration.
If your account has Listing Management-Manage permissions, click the Tag Management button to go to the Asset > Catalog Management > Other Settings > Basic Settings page and create new tags.
Business owner: This setting can be modified only for business metrics.
Visibility scope/Data exploration report: Controls whether to display the corresponding content on the asset details page in the asset catalog.

NoteFor API and dashboard assets, you can modify the system attributes for catalog, asset tags, and visibility scope.
For business metric assets, you can modify the catalog, asset tags, business owner, visibility scope, and related business metrics.
When the table type is physical table, physical view, materialized view, or data source table, the display names and descriptions of the table and its fields can reference DDL comments as asset attributes.
Intelligent Generation
This operation is supported only for table and technical metric assets. Intelligent generation is only applicable to editable assets. Select the assets for which you want to generate information, click Intelligent generation at the bottom, and configure the information in the Create Intelligent Generation Task dialog box. For more information, see Intelligent generation.
Export Assets
Click Export assets at the bottom to batch export the selected assets. The system automatically skips assets for which you do not have maintenance permissions.
If you export many assets, file generation may take some time. You can view the export operation details and download the file in Batch Management - Batch Operation Records.
NoteSome attribute changes, such as to catalogs and tags, require you to relist the asset for the changes to appear in the asset catalog. Changes to other attributes, such as fields and dashboard chart information, do not require relisting. The asset catalog always displays the latest attributes.
If a listed asset is deleted, the Relisting Required column displays Yes. You must relist the asset to maintain data consistency and availability.
If an asset is deleted, you can only view it.
Edit asset information
When you save a table asset, corresponding metric assets are automatically generated.
If you select Save And List Related Metrics at the bottom, the table asset and its related metric assets are listed simultaneously.
List the table before you list its custom metrics.
When the table type is physical table, physical view, materialized view, or data source table, the display names and descriptions of the table and its fields can use DDL comments as their asset attributes.

Intelligent generation
Dataphin uses large language models (LLMs) to intelligently generate basic information for tables and fields. This feature can discover metrics with business value from table assets and generate comprehensive information for metric assets, which greatly improves data configuration efficiency.
The first row on the intelligent generation page displays the existing configuration information. The second row displays the intelligently generated configuration information. You can only modify the intelligently generated information.
Intelligently generating many fields or technical metrics may take a long time. Please be patient.
